A veritable legend. RIP
Just heard that John Haynes (he of the Haynes Workshop Manuals) has died.
There's a gap to fill.
got three or four of his manuals in the garage now, RIP sir
Where would we be without Haynes manuals?
RIP, John. I hope that the museum can continue as a lasting tribute.
Although no trees were harmed during the creation of this post, a large number of electrons were greatly inconvenienced.
RIP John.
Sad to hear of his passing.
I started my working life at Halfords in 1976 and the amount of Haynes manuals we sold was astounding.
I had many a Haynes manual in my early car ownership, amazing attention to detail in them and so helpful.
A sad loss, probably never to be emulated in this day and age of disposable pretty much everything.
The Haynes manuals were ,I suspect , the first bit of technical info a lot of us had real use for. They were a real help and a pleasure to use, but rather oil absorbent !!! Top chap and I really must visit the museum.
