Anyone who buys a watch larger than 39mm diameter is compensating for their tiny penis

I only own quartz
Omega are overrated and need to cull at least 50% of their lineup. They have about 500 watches in their catalogue and lost their way a long time ago.
Anyone involved in their leather bracelets and sunglasses lines should be sacked and banned from ever working in watches. Utter clown show.
The T-Clasp bracelet on Tudors is utterly useless when the adjustment is equal to or less than one link. How can you release a clasp like that when it’s still possible to be between sizes?
Copy the easy-link from Rolex or make the adjustment length 1.5 links minimum.
Upside down watches, you know the ones, date and crown on the wrong side and military types try and give them a fancy name. I’m not having it, simples.
The Submariner 114060 is a much better watch than the 14060M.
The only date window that doesn’t ruin the look of a watch is the cyclops… and only because it’s a design icon.
All other date windows are butters.

Spending over £200 on a G-Shock is pointless.

So called watch enthusiasts who buy a Rolex and then moan their socks off about the costs of servicing it. Then come here asking where they can get it done on the cheap. You knew the cost of servicing you moron when you bought the watch, so why moan now.
Also self same morons who moan when watch makers restrict parts to accredited repairers only. They are doing it to ensure that morons like you don't buy a frankenwatch with dodgy parts supplied by someone with a friend of a friend in China.
If you don't want to maintain it properly, buy a G-Shock.
Watches are fundamentally designed for fantasists. Be it tough action fantasists who buy military watches. Jacques Cousteau fantasists who buy dive watches, racing fantasists, pilot fantasists or even suave bourgeois fantasists who want small little dressy things from another time.
It’s all just marketing and any talk of specs feeds into the fantasy of what a watch needs to be able to do.
(I include myself in this).
....And yet, Omega are still more innovative and make better watches than Rolex.
Rolex are the strongest brand in the world. Shame their watches aren't the mechanical equivalent.
Personal taste, but once you have had a clear out of the blingy two tone and PM stuff, the less interesting of the steel stuff, that doesn’t leave such a lot.

My dislikes..
California Dials... confusing
Panerai...too big and cumbersome
Royal Oak... ugly
NATO straps.... cheap for a reason
Weak lume.. why bother at all?
Misleading waterproofing capabilities
Smart watches... computer on the wrist. Why?
Press fit watch backs
Cheap watch tools
AND SO ON...
Rolex should offer the Submariner in a quartz version - a bit like Omega used to with the Seamaster.
Aha, got you. For many years I believed that I had built up full immunity from such things thanks to taking a rather relaxed view to drinking water sources whilst growing up in West Africa, however suffered a very rude awakening on a trip to Israel where I discovered why hotel sinks are ideally within leaning distance of the khazi.

If Rolex didn’t exist 90% of this forum content would vanish. For the better.
There's no such thing as a 'smartwatch' / 'smart watch' -
They're not smart: they're generic, boring and utilitarian.
They're not watches: they're wrist-worn communication computers and voluntary tracking devices.
And they don't belong on a watch forum. Get over yourself.
Another ex Hublot owner. I think they are excellent watches but Dear Lord buy pre owned!
A lot of people on this thread don’t like brands, watches, certain features, the size and some clearly have a very tight grasp of their cash. Can only assume they buy from Argos when there is a sale on or low ball me on e-bay.
Dive watches supplied on leather straps are not suitable dive watches

Tool’s watches.
All watches are tool watches.
Patina should be polished away. Vintage watches should look nice not battered.
I like Sinn, but their innovations such as inert gas, drying crystals, hydro, low temp oils are solutions looking for a problem that no one has.
That’s why my 144 has none of them!

Were you a member of a specific Military Regiment? Yes? Excellent, wear that special edition Bremont/Breitling with pride.
Oh you weren't a member of a specific Military Regiment? Then why the farking hell are you wearing it then?
I agree with the caveat that if you yourself put that patina and wear into the watch then it is a catalog of your life and should remain as is. If you have however purchased a battered old watch and are wearing it in such a way as to impart the image of a life of action upon yourself, then don't.
Back to unpopular opinions
80% of watches posted on the forum are too big for their owners' wrists
And
Rolex is now a fashion brand
It is. It is a lovely piece of jewellery. I don’t need it to tell the time because I have multiple clocks and digital displays around the house and I can’t go out in it for fear of Eastern Europeans hiding in the bushes and the cherry on the top of the cake is when those who sell them and make their living from it dismiss the buyers as rich lemmings then I think we can all agree that we are being taken for a ride.
When does the Swatch x Aquanaut come out?
