I’ve had vans for 19yrs now and just fancy a big car.
Question is. Is there any estate / suv / mpv that can replace a van ?
I don’t carry loads of weight in my van but sometimes need 3m lth trunking / conduits to deliver
Any cars that have 3m load ? Even if over the passenger seats

Most cars I have owned could take a 2.4m length of conduit or similar as long as it could dip into the passenger footwell, so 3m should be do-able in a decent estate.

Take a look at Skoda Superb estates, they are massive, if a little funeral in looks.

I would think an E class wagon would be able to handle that just fine but you’d have to see what you can do with the front passenger seat. I looked at one on Friday and the rear space was bigger than it looks.
Another vote for the D4. With the seats down they outstrip a lot of vans. Supremely comfortable to boot.
I don’t think I’ll ever sell mine, there just ain’t anything that replaces it since LR sold their sole to the “sports utility Chelsea tractor” market.
You could always get a roof rack and tube carrier, think van vault even do a 4m version for 3.75m lengths of glav conduit. Think you’ll miss a van one of our guys has moved over to a Passat estate as a company vehicle and hates it

Lots of room in back as you can remove seats.
I think they ran to a 14 plate.
You'll struggle to beat a Discovery on a tip run. The neighbours probably thought I was moving out this day.

What about a van derived car? Friends of our run a ski chalet in St Martin de Belleville in the French Alps. They have a Fiat Doblo and have done the transfers with full luggage and skis and it’s cavernous.
Surprised that nobody has suggested an MX-5 yet.

I used to moonlight as a technical courier (pick up pc's from a warehouse and set them up for people) I had a seat alhambra (vw sharan, ford galaxy) for this and very well it did too. Also useful for cramming mates into when going out.
Not sure you could get 3m of stuff in it but they have grown in recent years so you might do. The suspension was tuned by ford (when they focused on that kind of thing) so it handled surprisingly well for a big lump of car, certainly better than my current SUV so could be worth looking at something like that.
Getting on a bit now but I have a 2001 BMW 5 Series (E39) touring and that has astonishingly good load capacity with the back seats down.
Fixed that.
Heard these are popular for later-evening communal events in Forestry Commission carparks and the like.

Another vote for a Discovery 3 or 4, very spacious indeed.
Mine is frequently used as a van or camper!
I would suggest just about most MPV's will give the OP what he wants. I've ran various ones for over two decades and they're versatility on wheels, 3m lengths of pipes would be a doddle.
