Never thought I would ever pick a real tropical dial up until this one crossed my path. What a stunner of a dial. The radium luminous has made a sparkle to the brown UV’ed patina gilt dial. Which FYI occurred in Aden Yemen the original papers have disclosed.
So many tropical dials are being posted and sold with damaged dials and not being truely tropical just damaged.
Pictured with another gilt, a non tropical gilt UG poulrouter as it would have looked before the UV (black) from factory to show the difference.

Here's my Seamaster 30 Im not sure if its Tropical or Patina. Never really understood the difference, but i do agree that too many sellers use it for watches with damaged dials[IMG]

I'm not quite sure if this counts as tropical, looks much more brown in certain light but difficult to capture on my mediocre phone camera.

Here’s a chocolate MK2
The Rolex watch was produced with a gloss black gilt dial similar to the UG and turned tropical (patina brown) as pictured over time due to different factors. It was not produced brown like that lovely omega Speedy in question.
Quite a difference.
