    He has died today aged 82. starred in a fair few films

    Not many of his era left. Loved his turn in 'Miller's Crossing'. A fine history of performances left behind.

    Very sad day. I saw him in the theatrical release of "Tom Jones" in 1963 and always see him that way!

    Yup born in Salford. Surprised he never turned up in Corrie, I mean a lot of accomplished actors from up north expressed a yearning to do a few episodes.
