    Toiletry Bag Recommendatons

Does anyone have any recommendations for a decent quality, large toiletry bag? The last two I've had have been cheap and succumbed to a) mildew and b) broken zips. I don't mind paying a little more for something that lasts.

It would need to be able to comfortably hold DE shaving kit, toothbrush and paste, shampoo, pills, some first aid bits and a couple of tubes of cream for my psoriasis. So not quite the entire bathroom cabinet but a representative sample. It would be in checked in luggage so does not have to be hand luggage sized.

Suggestions and recommendations are most welcome.

    Thanks

    David

Check out Rohan. They have some excellent kit in different sizes, with clever features like hanging hooks, integrated mirrors and stand up shapes. You can also just chuck them in the washing machine for a quick spruce up when they get a bit dirty!

Thanks very much Pinpull - those look much better than what I've previously had.

Ok probably a bit unexpected I picked up a large superdry one in the new year sale last year for about 17 pounds, it is made of lovely leather not a shouty one, has a hefty zip and didn’t leak when my shower gel exploded

I have a samsonite one it folds in half which is useful and can keep liquids in one side so easy to get out if you end up using as hand luggage. It is quite thick so the centre zip is useful for packing.

Similar to this one but without the carry handle.

My other half bought me one of these (or very similar) a few years ago . I've used it on numerous trips and it still looks as good as new.

    John Chapman.

I have one by Chapman but, if I remember correctly, it's a fly fishing reel cover with a custom lining as I found the two standard washbags a little on the large side.

Thank you, those are clearly the Billingham's of the bathroom.

The North Face do a 'mini' duffel toiletry bag worth checking out. A bit more rugged which I like.

I’ve been using one of these for years absolutely bomb proof essentially a small version of the basecamp duffels

Sainsbury’s plastic bag has done well for me in the past. Only 5p too.

For the last 10 years have used one of the Summit bags - ultralight but good enough to hang open in a hotel bathroom.

If you are spending a lot of time flying and using a carry-on, then get a clear plastic one of EBay for a few quid. I still have mine and it's done 100kmiles without incident.

Yep them or Tesco really works well :)
Any spillage not an issue and can take as much or as little as needed, fold up small and weigh nothing.
I travel a lot and a cheap plastic bag works by far the best, never mind the price !!!
Do not get sold something you actually really do not need to buy.

    Samsonite.
Mine is very similar to this.

    https://www.samsonite.co.uk/lite-dlx...1&cgid=SAMS178

Mine. though, was bought about ten years ago. All of my work is away from home so my bag has had some very serious use and has been all over the world in all sorts of climates. It's in absolutely A1 condition apart from a bit of rust around a couple of studs. It's been a remarkably good buy, and I wouldn't be surprised if I'm still using it in another ten.

    In a mad moment I bought one of these about 10 years ago;

    https://uk.tumi.com/alpha-3-alpha-2-...SABEgLWRfD_BwE

It's far too expensive for what it is really but even after 10 years it still looks as good as new! Used it this weekend and it still holds all my bits n pieces and keeps them sorted no matter what.

Not sure a watch forum is the right place for such a statement 😂

Thanks very much for everyone who has taken the trouble to post suggestions. We are spoiled for choice when it comes to the simplest of things.

The suggestion of a Sainsbury's bag is noted with thanks but rejected due to the inevitable mixing of wet and dry items in one bag. It is useful for storing used socks until I can get home...

Thanks Andy for the point about the clear bags on eBay. I've had one of those before, I think of them as being make up bags really, but the zip was rubbish and it lasted two trips and broke on the third.

I'd not seen the hanging and unfolding types before which seem a neat idea to me and is what in the end I went for.

I very nearly went for a WANDF which is produced in Maryland. It has two detachable pockets which would mean you could change the bag size depending on the length of your trip. But I finally decided to go with Franco's suggestion of a SeatoSummit hanging bag, which looks to be a good combination of the hanging and old styles and being rugged too! It has sound reviews on a number of sites.

    Thanks again!

    David

I use a military style roll pack from Daines and Hathaway. Looks good and has different compartments to store stuff. Obviously it depends on how much you want to carry but I can fit my DE kit and with travel sized toiletries, I can squeeze everything else in.

I got it from https://www.executive-shaving.co.uk/...deas/wet-packs, so if your unsure of sizing etc, give Brian a call (based in Glasgow) and he'll help you out.
