For me it's either be the Grand Seiko SBGE 201 or Breitling Chronomat GMT 44, neither are subtle watches but both are interesting (to me anyway). Hmm.. Or maybe a snowflake, or a Ulysee Nardin or....

I'd buy this from Milton's shop.

That really is lovely, although I doubt they can be picked up for a couple of thousand.

I don't believe that's at any of my shops, if you are referring to me --- I believe it is at one of my cousin's shops.

    True, but 60% of £5000 is £3000.

    @ ~5K there’s a world of possibilities!

Parmigiani.. Hermes.. Blancpain.. Ulysse Nardin.. Daniel Roth.. etc.. etc.. etc..

Don’t settle for a Rolex (unless you don’t own one)

BB58 and a Hamilton khaki Field with a couple of thousand saved for the next one as well(!)
My BB58’s not been off since buying it, a corker for the money.

This, entirely. As a Rolex owner I can confidently say that they don’t justify their premium. I’d open up to IWC and JLC at 5k, a world of complications and styles that make an Explorer I look pretty vanilla.

Could you scrape in an IWC Top Gun for your budget?

Thread revival I know but a Tudor Snowflake just sold on eBay for £4950, https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Blue-Dial...app-cvip-panel and looked a solid investment of you wanted to soothe £5k. I wondered if it was a regular TZer given TZ was mentioned..

I have a 14060 with original Tritium hands/dial, it has become a perfect watch for me so I would look to get one of these if I didn’t have one.
Another option would be an all original vintage Speedmaster, prices are quite all over the place but for £5k you could get something quite special..
