    6-8 watch box

Looking at a watch box for 6-8 watches as my collection very slowly grows!

Does anyone have any recommendations around the £100 mark?

Decorative or functional? If functional get a Peli case from the Case Farm.

I second that. At Christmas Aevitas we’re selling off some old stock. I got a 3 watch winder for 125 down from 300. Great quality for the money.

I've been looking for something similar. This is my front runner at the moment and we'll below my budget.

That one holds 4 but they have bigger ones. They'll also sell the foam cut outs separately if you can find an empty case elsewhere.
Peli cases are used in the military & by law enforcement because of their strength & lifetime warranty.
The one thing that they are not is pretty...

For safety, a peli case is hard beaten.
I had one that held 30 watches but sold it when i downsized.
Ive always used a smaller peli case however and its excellent. although i have not tried it, im pretty sure the watches would be safe in it if i dropped it down the stairs.

Not the best for displaying watches though, its for safety not display.
Note the image shows foam cut for 10 watches but i have changed that out for foam cut for 8 watches (many in the picture have been flipped).

Theres a chap on facebook that does these cases and lazer cuts the foam so its a very tidy solution. not sure if im allowed post business names on the forum so pm me if you want the info.

Didn’t realise you could get different foam cut outs. Must look into this further.

Axis 6 watch box will probably cost about £40 has a piano black finish cushions that actually fit and are wide enough to fit a decent sized watch.

Piana black finish would be nice, but all their boxes like that seem to be out of stock? Ideally I’d like something similar with between 10-20 spaces.
It's just a matter of time...

Try e-bay for the 6 ones I managed to find a seller there. I also got a 12 one in the same design so they do make them. Very good size too considering the price.

I'll check to see if I still have the sellers details.

Rather than start a new thread!

Anyone any experience of this one (and, indeed, the business selling it)

    https://watch-box.co.uk/collections/...-watch-6-slots

Or stick with Wolf with 5 not 6 “slots”?

    https://www.1010boutique.co.uk/shop/...lack-and-grey/

Any other sub-£100 ideas? It’s a gift but I’m not that generous!

    Thanks.

I also like the Case Farm boxes when a sturdy case is needed. They do big ones too.

For day-to-day use I'm quite taken with flat bottomed watch rolls right now with the easy slide in/out cushions. There's definitely some out there with 2 rows of 3/4 watches that would fit your requirement.

Thanks. I like the Peli (?) cases just not sure how bulky they are. Obviously maximum protection!

Similar to Pelli, I have an equivalent from Solent Plastics. It's superb. The family joke that it looks like I'm carrying around the nuclear codes.

Can post some pictures if that helps...

    Thanks. Like this?

    https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Waterproof-IP67-Large-Hard-Plastic-Protective-Grip-Carry-TOUGH-Case-Cubed-Foam-/124683598086

Do they make one pre-“slotted”? And with a “pad” to put the watch on?

    What’s it like weight/size wise?

I think the one you're looking at will be too shallow.

    Details for mine:-

Weight (with the boxes you see) 1.5 kg

    External dimensions - L24 x W25 x H12 Note: this includes hinge, handle etc.

When shut the layer the watches sit in is sandwiched between 2 others.

The pockets are easily made by pinching out part cut squares. For cushions I use a swimming noodle that I cut down.

I can email better pictures if you like.

    Quality is superb.

    Thank you! Appreciate that.

It certainly looks the business. How does price compare to the Case Farm ones?

PS Had to look up Swimming Noodle!

If you check the Case Farm pics myself and Speedy posted you'll notice the pre-made cut out slots, which allows the watches to sit down in the case so nothing touches the face of the watch. I think that would be the main difference. As for Peli vs the other outer case manufacturer, can't comment on that as I've now owned the alternative. You'll have to pay a bit of a premium for peli though.

Rainer Schuster. Top-notch quality, excellent customer service and about on budget. Tonnes better than Axis.

These are matt black, but solid rather than veneered and a lot better quality.

    -Edit-

Ooof just seen the postage! It never used to be like that and I bet you'd get stung for import charges too. Great British Brexit, the gift that just keeps on taking. Better find an excuse to visit Germany...

Look good but, as you say, post and VAT will be pushing £180-190 for the 6 slot.

    Thanks.

The ‘cut out ready’ Peli has the advantage for someone like me who struggles with basic DIY!

I suspect in terms of functionality, as it wouldn’t be getting any abuse, either case would be good.

Yes, unfortunately it looks like that ship has sailed unless you have reason to visit the EU. I have a 12 slot box and it is top notch.

I have a box from this guy on Etsy had it custom made. I have attached the pic from his Etsy page because it's better than I could take.

Thanks. Bit confusing. Says VAT included in the prices but it’s an American bloke and when you try to see postage cost it says “Sorry, this item doesn’t deliver to United Kingdom”.

I can only see where it says ships free to the US. If you message him he will respond he will probably want shipping fees above and beyond the price in the description.

There’s a guy on eBay does antique boxes. Some cracking ones. But within your budget harder to find.

That looks good. Could you tell me what the measurements are when it’s rolled up? I’m looking for something compact.

Here's a cheap and cheerful solution for eight watches, about 15 quid on Amazon.

And for travelling it fits perfectly in a small Billingham Hadley although that does increase the price somewhat.

Like the look of that but not sure it’s right for bracelet watches.
