Beautiful car but 'Triggers broom' springs to mind!
Started out with nothing. Still have most of it left.

That's as maybe but I'd not be very happy with 40 odd years of patina.

It is indeed a stunning looking car.

But does anyone know the particular reason why, given that the car is a DB4, in the film they feel the need at 4:07 to refer to "The DB5 as favoured by James Bond"?

As any fule kno, James Bond only favoured the DB5 in the film of Goldfinger. In the original Ian Fleming book he favoured the DB Mark III.

    The Aston Martin DB4.

What a stunning restoration from a complete basket case. I would love to have seen more of the restoration process than just the partially restored body but what a beauty.

No, but sometimes you wonder how much of the original car remains. Rather like an old Rolex which is all battered having a new case and dial etc!

Original body, engine, gearbox, seat frames, wheels etc, guessing that it's all re-trimmed, could be as high as 70%+ original parts though I'm no expert,
I'm in the 'good as new' camp so the end result suits my tastes, TBH I'd be just the same with a blue Tudor snowflake, I'd want it to look like new.
I do get your point though.
