Great looking watch, snap!
I've had mine for 6 years and have the deployment clasp, which they appear to have removed now.
Very reliable and great quality for the price

I had one of these but sold it with regret a couple of years ago, and I've missed it ever since.
So I replaced it.
The quality is outstanding for such little money.

That does look good. Is it 40mm plus crown or 40mm inc crown?
My good lady bought me one for our wedding, lovely watch. Hamilton is a fantastic brand with a rich history.
In my eyes, £449 is not an insignificant amount of money for a watch so a good degree of quality would be an expected prerequisite!... that said, its a lovely looking thing and the detail / finish looks fantastic
I have a Hamilton Khaki Navy Scuba and can only say that I am impressed by it's build quality and time keeping for it's price point. Despite having skinny wrists, I find the downward curved lugs allow it to fit better than the 50mm L2L would suggest. Don't be put off by the dimensions, try one on, you may be pleasantly surprised.
I have the same watch and love it too. As you say, it makes many other ETA 2824 based watches seem very over-priced. 40mm is about my top end size-wise but I never find this feels too big.
I had the black dialed version for a while too, on the stainless bracelet, and that was just as good. One watch I do regret selling.
