    Aqua Terra Skyfall advice

    Hi folks,

Purchased this on eBay. Just curious what thoughts are on pictures. No papers with watch but does have box and seller has good feedback.

I won't have the watch for a while. It's been posted to a friend in Boston. I'm wondering if I should get him to bring to ad for authentication?

Bought from eBay so hopefully covered if doesn't work out. Also I've read various reports that it's possible to get cards for watches replaced? Is that true?
    Thanks,
    Mick

I don’t know what level fakes have got to but I suspect you’re over-thinking this! ;-)

Really pleased you found one at a price good for you. I once had the pleasure of meeting one of these at a g2g, and it made a big impression on me

It's a total fake. I will pm you my address. Send it over and I will see it's disposed of correctly.

    Thanks folks,
It wasn't cheap. I'd say about 2300 gbp. I'm in no rush to get it as it will be safe with my friend but I might not be safe if my wife sees it.. ironically I may pretend to her it's fake so she doesn't freak out re price!

what makes you think or concern it may be or could be a fake ?, as you said it was not cheap while cost does not preclude it being fake
. it looks good to me but I ant no expert but I probably would and have in the past people with better knowledge than me to look over a purchase before I buy it . lovely blue dial. lets know how you get on

I've no concerns beyond it not having papers and I'm buying something that's currently 6000 miles away from me without having it in my hand first :-

My only real question for your friend would be to check it matches the pictures.

Yes as soon as he gets it I'll get him to take a ton of pics and send them to me. I'll post them here

2300 is a good price. Lovely watch. The 8500 Coax movement is excellent.

I’d like an aqua terra, if the wife does kill you tell her I’ll take it off you for £2301 😉

My PO with the 8500 is 7 years old and still going strong and keeping good time.

I'm after that exact watch but struggling to locate one, your pics aren't helping! Looks spot on to me.

I'd also "make do" with a Spectre AT if there's any of them about.

    Does it hour hack???
The 8500 movement has the timezone feature, and I am pretty sure no fake does,,,,,,

I'd be confident looking at the pics that that is the real deal. I've got a 8500 AT with a grey dial that I picked up for not much less than that, so you got a great deal there - congrats!

Make sure it has the quick set hour feature, and you should be ok.

In the post to your friend? Or in the post to you from your friend?

If the watch you get is the watch pictured then you should be ok.

One of the nicest blue dials I`ve ever seen. Several years ago I fixed a watch for a guy, when he called to pick it up he was wearing one of these and I was very impressed, so much so that I bought a 38.5mm Aqua Terra of SC a few weeks later (dark grey dial, not blue!). At the time I was very focussed on black or dark grey dial, but in all honesty the blue dial was the nicer watch.

Hopefully this'll turn out well, the watch looks OK to me.

In the post to my friend. I'll ask him to photo extensively when he gets it. FedEx tracking saying by end of day Tuesday

I'm not sure I'm brave enough to get him to repost to Ireland. I may wait till ik over in few months to collect from him

Looks awesome. If that is the 38.5mm one then I think the best watch Omega have made for decades

Lovely watch. I've fancied a blue face for a few years and never ended up getting one. If I do I'll seriously consider that, it's spot on.

    Hi all,

So the 5 month wait is over... finally collected my Aqua terra from friend in Boston today.. got resized at the local omega boutique for free.. i've ordered a Martu leather strap to go with it

    This one

    https://www.martuleather.com/store/p..._m1511-c5.html

The colour doesnt look a match but i have one of their brown straps on my Stowa and they are great. I went for 19mm tapered to 18mm and ive ordered a 18mm omega buckle for it from ebay.. hopefully it will look ok..

Sorry for all the pics but i can't help myself...

    Congrats on the acquisition.

I recommend putting it on the Omega blue strap with a 16mm deployment clasp.

That's lovely, any details on the strap? Reference etc for ordering with Omega?
    Thanks,

That certainly is a lovely looking watch. I had an earlier Aqua Terra in white and always regretted parting with it, but one of those would a step up I think.
Started out with nothing. Still have most of it left.

Lovely watch, I'm wearing the 41mm blue dial version right now, purchased from WTB on here. They're stunning in sunlight, enjoy it :-)

Thanks - im enjoying it very much so far.. as you say in light its so nice.. the lume doesnt seem that dramatic on it.. I'm looking forward to trying it with strap.. i'm not sure i can justify 500 dollars on the omega strap and deployant although my resistance might be tested before the summer is out..

Does anyone know if the strap in this picture will fit my 2015 aqua Terra?

The AT Skyfall has a 19mm lug width as does the current 38mm AT. So provided the curved ends of the strap fit the older case then you are OK.
