Rolex Pricing - UK vs Europe

Apologies if I'm being dim but ...

over here the current list price for the OP 39mm is €5,150. Am I right in thinking the UK list price is GBP4,350? Is that UK fig. out of date because, if not, that seems a big difference.

Yep, I'd checked the website. It's just that an 8% price diff seems huge for a short stroll across the channel. And the OPs are relatively cheap so I imagine the absolute difference is even bigger on other models. I guess it's all hypothetical anyway since they aren't actually available to buy ...

I'm sure if you're popping over someone world buy one of they saw one. They're usually in the window if they're in stock. I work next to two ADs in London so could help of that's an option.

Yes but points scored for starting another Rolex thread,,

Interestingly, there are a few LNIB / mint trading at the European list price, but I haven't come across any at the UK one.

I managed to get the white one a month or two ago from Harrods, just walked in. I think I saw both the white and the black on display there as well a week ago:) it's such a lovely watch

UK pricing has been cheaper than the rest of the world for a while now hence we were one of the first countries where the SS shortage started cropping up

You say that but it’s not that long ago that it was the other way round, a quick trip over to Italy or Greece could get you a Rolex at an incredibly cheap price. I got a non date sub for around £4,100 if I remember correctly in Florence when they were £5,000 here.

The UK is ripe for a price rise.

UK’s list prices have been the lowest in the world for sometime. Now even more so given the weakening in GBP over the last 2 weeks.

Guess that is why even SS OPs are harder to come by in UK compared to other countries.

I was over in the UAE last week. Offered a Sea Dweller 126600 at "list" by the AD.
Whilst that is £8700 if purchased here, due to the conversion was coming in at £10800! Suffice to say I kindly passed .....

Add on UK Vat on return to the UK and it's well over £12k.

Exactly! They did try to tempt me further with an additional 5% discount but I opted to wait it out. It was nice to see a new one in the flesh, I must admit.

And the saleswoman clearly knew the effect a Rolex has on the wearer once on the wrist- she almost forced it on to my wrist and then, almost, had to force it off.

    The wait continues....!

So the list price overseas for the SD43 is higher than the secondary market price... shows how cheap they are in the UK!

& Explains why no one - well very few people - can actually get them!
It's just a matter of time...

But also remember they are not as relatively expensive as this makes it seem in the local market - it looks bad to us because the pound is so weak. Wouldn't have looked to bad at the exchange rate of 5 years ago.

All you will see is a combination of empty shelves and the stuff that no one will touch with a bargepole.

Is that the red light district or the Rolex dealers? ;-)

Taking the wife to a red light district in order to gawp at the prossies is high enough risk as it is, but for a dodery old man to wear a Rolex in such a place as well is one risk too many.
