PRIZE ADDED - Seiko SKX009K with Strapcode Super Oyster Bracelet

In view of the fantastic response and there still being a little over a week for this to run, I am adding this Seiko SKX009K with lovely deep blue dial and 'Pepsi' bezel to go to the first runner-up. I'm sure that SKX009 needs little introduction here, it is a very highly regarded timepiece and popular with modders. This example has French as the second date wheel language.

The watch was new when I bought it in 2015 and has been worn very occasionally. It is still pretty pristine with just the odd strap changing mark as far as I can see. It has always kept good time.

The Strapcode Super Oyster bracelet is also well known in these parts and is very comfortable. It is currently sized for a 6.75" wrist and comes with three spare links which I think makes it full length. The original Seiko rubber strap is included, I think I only tried it on once.

I must have the instruction manual somewhere but I've no idea where!

There may be more to come...

It is absolutely brilliant to hit a grand, and has doubled what I had hoped to raise. This is really going to make a big difference to Nicola's fund and the children that they support. Many, many thanks from us all.

    Matthew and family

I've found that there is usually a lull midway through the second week, however another prize will be added tomorrow to give this a final boost through to the weekend.

Great to read about Laura, really made my day.

I’ve just donated for 2, but should I be successful in any draw, please keep it yourself as a reminder of your fantastic news.

Matthew, this is a great cause and delighted to hear your family has come through the worst. These pieces of good news are what make the world seem a little less dark even at the worst times! Happy to donate - put me down for 3 :) All the best!

ANOTHER PRIZE ADDED - CWC G10

We're totally blown away by the astounding level of support for this, and as promised a prize is now added for the second runner-up.

It's an '04 CWC G10, in pretty good nick with some minor swirlies on the crystal, some tiny nicks around the case and a bit of strap rash. Overall a good honest example that will serve the new owner well.

I've put a new battery in today, and it will come with virtually unworn black NATO and black Eulit 'Palma' Perlon straps (both 18mm although the lug width is 19mm).

A little reminder that the draw will be on Monday (rather than the usual Sunday), to coincide with World Cancer Day. We'll close this at 5pm so there's a little under 48 hours still to go. Laura is a dab hand at folding up and mixing the raffle tickets now; she will draw the winners in reverse order with the first ticket out for the G10, the second for the SKX009 and the third for the Everest.

    Any more for any more?

    I'm in for 2.

Such a great cause with too many families living with this and the tough fight that goes with it.

If I do win any of the great prizes on offer please feel free to sell on SC and donate to the fund.
    All the best.

The level of support for this has been absolutely magnificent. Your donations are going to make a big difference to the families that Nicola's Fund help throughout the year. It is not a large charity but achieves an awful lot with their funds. They provide a much needed respite during gruelling treatment and subsequently help children to continue their recovery with events that bring joy and community. We are particularly impressed that siblings are included on all occasions, as they are also deeply affected but sometimes sidelined.

Here is Laura meeting Santa at the 2016 Nicola's Fund Christmas Party, six days after chemo. At this point she had lost a third of her bodyweight and was suffering from severe peripheral neuropathy in her ankles and wrists, which is why there were bungee attachments on her shoes. She wasn't feeling too great, but from the moment she arrived she was treated like a princess and it really lifted her spirits and gave her an escape. She spoke of little else for days afterwards.

    Thank you all so much.

    Matthew and family

It's amazing what you learn on this forum, never expected to read stories such as yours. I'm glad that Laura, yourself and the rest of your family have come through this. Good luck for the future.

Good on you for sorting this, Matthew - it must be tempting to put the whole story (and anything connected with it) behind you, and I think it speaks volumes that you’re still so engaged in supporting what sounds like an excellent cause.

Right, who wants the CWC? Alas, Laura is incorruptible so you'll have to keep fingers crossed.

List updated, closing in a couple of hours...

I always find these updates heartening, so I'll lead the final surge with a request for five tickets. At the same time I'll take the opportunity to add my best wishes for Laura, as well as the rest of the family.

PS Seiko for preference but I'm cool with the CWC.
