Cheesy, but quite well done.
Just to say, it’s bloody excellent. Well written, well acted. A bit of catering to the Yankee audience but ignore that - it’s very very good.

It's just a matter of time...
Yes a couple of episodes in, and very good. As you say a couple of odd things for the US audience such as the wardrobe department and sets, but good British humour
I’ve seen them all and although a bit Americanised I thought it was fairly enjoyable.
I enjoyed it, well written. Kind of set in the 80s based on cars and fashion and porn mags! but kids have mobiles and laptops, odd but it works.

Just finished it. Felt it started better than it finished. Enjoyable all the same though.

I've watched the first few episodes and like already said was confused about when it was set.
To me it's clearly set in the late 70s - early 80s but the kids all have modern tech.
It also has that American theme to it which I've read was intentional from the start- the writers liked the success of the John Hughes films which were set around the High school so they decided to shoot it this way.
Erm, it has Gillian Anderson in it, and no one thought to mention?
My girlfriend started watching this and well I wasn’t that enthused.
However 10seconds in and that girl peaked my interest, nice girl albeit a bit bugs bunny 😉.
Overall I enjoyed the series, weirdly American/80s as others have said but it doesn’t detract too much.
One line of dialogue said "that's so 2008", so it's clearly set in or close to the present day.
