    Watchfinder sale?

How often is the big WF sale? the one where you can ‘make an offer on anything’ - more so than usual, is it a set time of the year or dependant on stock and performance? They have something im interested in but I want a bargain on it, as I really could live without it. I believe its been in stock a while so could go for a little bit less..

Their sales are still 20% over what you can pick things up for on sales corner or ebay.

Sales staff, shop rents, rates, utilities bills etc. aren't free are they?

If you don't like the prices, don't buy.

Register interest in the watch and then when they respond, ask for a discount. I have done this recently and got a decent deal

Yes, just like buying any product from a corporate entity rather than privately. Plus you get a warranty, which may be worth a lot more than the percentage difference if required. However, there have been items in their sale cheaper than or comparable to private sales, and with a warranty - but granted not all of their reduced items meet that definition.

I find them a really polarising experience in terms of money.

I got a gold zenith ultrathin off them a few years back for a simply crazy price, I couldn't believe my luck.

Then recently I asked for a valuation of a watch they had in stock for 3300 and they offered me 1300 even though mine was boxed, papered and under service warranty and theirs was without.

I think since they were taken over they seem to all about the Benjamin's...

I was talking to them last year, independent of any sale, and they offered me £200 off a £2600 watch relatively easily. It actually sold just before I went for it, but still. I got the impression that it was older stock, but that price was pretty much on the market.
Although I see dome of their prices and chuckle a little.

Yes, but in all fairness it was a cock up on their part rather than competitively pricing the watch
