Hmmm, so I did sell the AP ROC after much deliberation, but ended up getting a bigger watch box and buying some more “daily wear” watches. I even have space for one more.

Maybe I should rename the thread “Increasing collection - which one?” :)

    That’s the spirit :)

Great collection there and a show of how times were different back then!

Nice collection, but if it was mine the Aquanaut wouldn’t be staying. With very few exceptions I dislike watches with Arabic dials and this certainly isn’t one of the exceptions.

    Fantastic collection.

Personally I'd ditch the Daytona, it's like a drug dealer in a 90's lavender shell suit at a black tie event in that company.

Replace it with a VC Overseas to maintain the 2 x big 3 symmetry.

    I'm only 53% joking.

I'm happy to take one on loan if that would help-no charge

    What a collection.

Is the current question what to fill the last gap with?

Basically yes, I’ve given up on reducing it to 5 watches :)

In that case...it has to be a dive watch or GMT to balance the collection :)

For me it would be the Sub ND 41, or a BLRO on oyster. Could consider upgrading the Aquanaut to the travel time.

The obvious one would be a Jumbo for the sake of it but might be a bit late in the day to go down for one of them. Or the new AP Ti perpetual calendar if you want to go nuts.

Lovely collection. I’d definitely fill that space with a VC Overseas.

The new limited Everest one is lovely but at 26.6k Vs 23.1k and without a bracelet it's a bit of a push.

I watched the Bark & Jack review on it - lovely piece. I’d just be happy with a VC Overseas Deep stream with the grey dial.

It's a great collection-what gap do you want to fill?
I would go for something from ALS, or my new found love for all things Breguet.

VC Overseas world time would be my choice given your obvious taste and budget.

Or some form of multiple time zone complication watch, it's the obvious gap.

On the worldtimer idea why not one of the Patek worldtimers for a bit of variety e.g 5230g ?

So the initial idea of reducing the collection has completely gone out of the window!! :)
Here’s a pic of the latest state of the collection. I have increased the brand diversity further and added a Lange Odysseus (fantastic watch), and also scratched an itch for a black ceramic watch. I still have the Kurono for a splash of colour (but run out of space in the box)

And there are two or three more coming over the next year or so, all brands I’ve not had before.

    RIAC

I’d sell the Nautilus personally, and if I had he money I’d be heading into vintage stuff like a 1655

I would lose one of the Pateks and one of the Tudors. Leaves you with the best spread

I would sell the hot Pateks, the APs and the Daytona now. Bag the cash, buy Sovereigns or Britannia's.

You will be able to pick these up again in 6 to 12 months time for pennies on the pound.

    Thank me later.

Not really working out on reducing the collection is it? It’s more like a look at what I have now in the collection thread
Personally I’d keep the speedys and sell the rest

Timing off as TPTB continue to borrow into nothing.

Russia supporting its currency with Gold.

Watch prices (what the MSM like to call inflation) are not going up....the buying power of the currencies are going down.

It is coming and a hot watch is not going to be much use

Here you go, I got it all the way down to four for you. You're left with a classy dress watch, two great daily pieces, a 'beater' and a shed load of cash for something special to fill the original 5 watch collection goal.

(p.s. I have given no thought to potential price appreciation/depreciation)
