    Watch Valuation for insurance?

Any advice on this please?...never done it before!

I'd like someone local-ish to me so I can take the watch to them.

    Anyone recommended in my area?

Or would I be best off contacting my house insurance provider initially?

    Thanks for any help.

If the watch is relatively new or purchased from a bricks and mortar store I'd ask them to provide a complimentary valuation in the first instance.

Thanks, good idea, but the watch is a few years old.

I recently re-newed my insurance and asked this particular question.

As my policy was new for old they suggested I put the list price of the current model. I wouldn’t worry about insurance value certificates unless they request one, simply because they state that the insurer will come to their own independent valuation in the event of a claim.

What kind of watch is it? Most insurers want specified items above 1500 and don’t get too worried until a piece is worth say 10k but this differs by company so it’s best to ask.

My insurer asked for this, and having looked into it my (probably unhelpful to you) response was to do what everyone else does on here and switch to M&S. No valuations needed and significantly cheaper.

Thanks, value is above £1500, but less than 10k

    Cheers

Periodically I would line up all my watches and take a photo with the date so there's a record of their appearance and condition.
