Floyd Mayweather being humble as ever... I know it’s only a glance but how many of these watches do people recognise?

I wonder how much he actually paid for a lot of those watches though. I imagine a lot he gets given or at least heavily discounted just to push the brand.

He has some very nice brands but his taste in watches is not for me. Sometimes less is more.

he is rags to riches and in that game bling is the thing. Cars, watches etc. Not for me but nice to see. I'm sure some of the people on this forum have probably bought and sold more watches than he has and still have a couple of cases full. As below, is he an ambassador for a brand so gets them free/discounted or can he offset them against tax?

Why on earth would anyone here care that he throws a bit of money at blinged-up watches? Good luck to him.

  17. #17
If I could afford and be able to get away with that much bling I'd certainly do the same. Haters gonna hate

How sad. Watches aside. “I’m going to go and spunk off £50k today because I have nothing better to do”
I feel sorry for him. I wouldn’t swap bank accounts with him if it left me like that.

Forget about his bad taste in watches but what an attitude! Honestly, I'd rather give birth to a hedgehog than listen to him.

He’s not really buying it as a watch its the monetary value he’s interested in.

it’s all about bragging how much money he’s got, check out the beef with 50cent.

What a complete knobber, I kind of wish I hadn't looked.

Good luck on getting your $18m back on that encrusted excrescence if you ever need to sell it.

Back in the day, Clay/Ali talked the talk albeit more impressively. But this sort of thing goes with the territory in boxing/r&b/rap. Joe Frazier with his full length fur coats, Mike Tyson with his houses, big cats on a lead etc. is it any more ostentatious than some plutocrat with his yacht(s) parked up in Monaco and having the Lambo craned off or having a service vessel following behind?

Perhaps he would do better in spending a few of his dollars on elocution lessons. Also, he does have a bit of a 'Potty mouth' that is just so unnecessary - doesn't impress me one bit (the man or his bling)

  28. #28
You buy what you like with your money, and let him buy what he likes with his - no problem. He earned it, he can spend it how he likes. Some/most of it is a little OTT for my tastes, but I haven't had his life and experiences, so i'll leave the judgement to others.
It's just a matter of time...

Watch styles clearly won't be to most people's taste but tbf I fixated on the bedspread before realising he was staying with his grandparents so clearly family is important- good for him.

I actually wonder if he likes them, the workmanship, history, the fusion of precious metals and precision engineering or just likes to show off and gain some steeze points with equally cultured likeminded people.

It’s all about plaudits from a peer group rather than any intrinsic horological attributes.

Whilst the watches are not to my taste, it does at least seem that he is apparently someone who takes a few of his decent watches with him to wear on holiday.

Watches are just that, personal baubles, in regards the ‘good luck getting your 18m back on that ‘ comment, I think that truly shows how little people understand how the majority of people buy stuff, they buy it to covet, admire, maybe be admired for, most couldn’t give a hoot as to what the residuals are, in fact I feel sorry for people that do acquire things with that mindset.

Regards Floyd, take a read of his biography or do some research, he is no Lewis Hamilton, he came up hard, including being used as a human shield in a gunfight whilst a toddler, it’s a miracle he made it at all, but he is a fighter of the like we will not be seeing again soon.

This is now the required format of all future SOTC posts :-)

If he went on “paycation” for 30 days with his Speedmaster collection he’d need a truck for all the cases...

    I am his agent.

If any of those criticising him would like me to fix it up so they go a couple of rounds in the ring with him at a venue of their choice please let me know. He usually wants a vast sum to appear but he’ll do it for free in this case.

Unlikely, there were plenty of unfortunate women victims who were on the receiving end first.
