I really struggle to get this COMEX thing ,if the dive company was called udders or bottom would it still be desirable?
While browsing WF I noticed they have two SD Comex for sale, £195,000 and £115,000
It surprises me how much a small detail like Comex on the dial makes to the value, although sure a collector will snap them up.

the WF markup surprises me.
When I was working with Sat divers in the early 90's they had been hawking those watches for £3-400. They were poor timekeepers anyway...
I know a French diving expert who had two of these, well used - who sold them both for £50k for the pair, in the early ‘00s.
A genuine Comex issue SD has a justifiable desirability in my mind - as opposed to a watch which simply has ‘Swiss only’, red writing or ‘open 6’ etc.

They are number issue stamped on the case back and youll receive a lovely presentation box from WF also . A bargain ..
Despite the age difference I am still surprised to see such a large difference in price. However, I know very little about the serious Rolex collecting world.
Supplied without any spare links I have no doubt.
were they still making them in 2008 ??
How much were these early/mid 2000's?
I was offered one years ago for £4k. It was in need of some restoration which put me off🙄
Gray
That's just crazy.
I understand double red and single red as they're rare models, officially made by Rolex. But never understood these COMEX prices.
But it's like with cars. They're asking a million for Mercedes Gullwing or Ferrari Daytona and the super rich collectors buy them, no matter what they cost.
I guess these kind of rich collectors buy watches too and the market price is decided by them.
Not sure, but I seem to recall them at the £40k mark around the time I joined the forum or a little after (i.e. 10 years ago).
And MilSubs were around the £80k mark. I had one in each hand once, during a little window-shopping detour on a trip to the NW, courtesy of a very kind owner.

Watchcentre also have a pair of Comex, a little bit cheaper.

How much would a Milsub in good nick, say a 5513/5517 example, go for nowadays?
Pathetic
Also, amazed that they have displayed the engraved number on the caseback.
