    Screenshots of bank apps

I have recently moved from an Apple iPhone 7 to Huawei p20.

I normally take a screenshot of my bank statement on the app and the Huawei has refused the screenshot on the grounds the NatWest app has refused it .

After 2 years of using Apple have I never experienced this and that is with the apple reputed water tight security and software.

Why is this phone unable to and can I overcome it?

    Regards

Can't do it on any Android phone. I know, it's annoying.

It is a little annoying. I guess it's to prevent phishers or scammers loading malicious hardware whilst your in the app I guess and as a by product refuses screen shots . Something to do with FLAG_SECURE.

Amazes me iPhones allow it especially the newer models .

I'll just load the desktop version and screenshot it that way it works fine

You just use another phone to take a photograph of the screen and then WhatsApp it across.

    Apple wins again.

I don’t know why people bother to use clunky alternatives.

Weird how Apple wins from being less secure. I get that it's annoying but I appreciate why.

Maybe because it's more secure there's less likelihood of anyone loading malicious hardware (whatever that is).

Can’t see how that taking a screenshot makes a phone less secure. Just a useful function.

    Thanks.

Can you explain then how you might load a telephone, for example?

Very simple, you just pick it up and down load it into your pocket.

A simple workaround to the screenshot problem, and to save carrying a second phone, an iPhone for instance, would be to photocopy the screen. Oh the joy of tech!

Could this have anything to do with certain governments crapping themselves at the media suggestion that Huawei are trying to upset the balance of secrets and knowledge the government (and possibly some banks) are supposedly keeping from us ?
    Just sayin' like.....

I’m trying to work out why you’d want to screen grab a statement when you can just download them?

    You can with smile anyway

Apple released a rare earnings warning earlier today, estimated revenue down between $5 to $8 billion. They're citing the trade war between USA and China but I think it's also a lot to do with iPhone demand (their biggest driver of profits) slowing. At well over £1,000 for their flagship mobile, the point where a large amount of Apple devotees think it's not worthwhile upgrading has now been reached.

Especially with the 'XR' at lower price point that runs the same software and even has most of the new internal tech compared to the $1K+ versions. Bet they won't be doing that again in a hurry.

I work for a major worldwide bank and our mobile application development team have seen a considerable drop in the number of Apple users in the last 12 months where previously the figure had increased each year. The number of Apple users on older (ip5/6 especially) are also becoming an issue in terms of support for new releases of our applications. I imagine in the next 12 month we will not be developing to support such devices.

I don't know if this will work, but you could try downloading a screenshot app on playstore and use that instead of the built in one.

Depending on the version of android - don't think that will work - in the same way, the latest version of android disables call recorders...

    Move to italy.
    Or change browser.
    Or don't use the app.
