Most of the choices so far are top notch, quite impossible for me to choose only three.

I like the theme. Iíll put in a word for another (Greater) Manchester based comedy ĎIdealí. Ran a long time but without gaining massive audiences. I thought it was great.

Could quite easily make this a top ten, but here goes

    Fawlty Towers
    Only Fools
    Dadís Army

And just outside the top three - Porridge

Well if nothing else, this thread shows that they donít make comedy shows like they used to.

Quite agree - love Toast, The Inbetweeners, Dads Army, in fact most listed on this thread, love me some comedy. Might add Nighty Night too, donít think thatís been mentioned yet.
Sadly I canít include Ďonly fools and horsesí - I loved it in the day, but try as I might I just find it desperately unfunny whenever I try to rewatch an episode. Donít think itís aged well, which is odd as something like Dads Army is so much older?!

I see that although this is “all time” greats, there’s not much love for pre-colour TV shows!

    Steptoe and son

Hancock (whatever the TV series was called)

    ‘Til death is do part

    Likely lads

Spike Milligan was a very good shout, by the way. You watch some of the early stuff and you see just how innovative and influential he was.

  47. #47
    Men behaving badly
    The in betweeners
    Blackadder
    Gimme Gimme Gimme

But any of the others on here could feature too
