Cracking watches. Sold mine for a bb58, but I do miss the Certina. Wears brilliantly given the dimensions.

I am fine with the crystal but a member here who has had one said there is a coating on the outside of the crystal and he marked his and from what he said it isn't just a case of using polywatch as that made it worse, for me this needs to be £400 brand new for me to try one :)

I do really like it though

Here’s a thought ( I like the sound of £400 btw ) anybody else fancying one and we try and buy a few with discount to make it work for all of us ?

Can anyone point us in the right direction to an AD if that were the case ?

I might be persuaded for the right price. I bet CS Bedford in Ruislip would do something. They're great in there. Family business.

I would buy one at £400 but no more than that as I still think the lug to lug will be too much for my 6.5" wrist :)

On paper these should be a winner, though in UK there is limited recognition of the brand.

Ordered one on boxing day with an expected two week wait... was infomed by the dealer that they will have to check with the manufactured at the beginning of feb for an ETA

I think they look fantastic and superb value.
Only downside is the size - I suspect it is a tad too big for my little wrist 6.3"

I’m in the same boat ordered one in early December online from a large high street dealer who said January - hoping it doesn’t get pushed back!

For anyone who's snared one recently, I'd be interested to know if it came in a peli-case or not?....

Excellent news, thoughts on it so far?

Had correspondence today (first class watches) that it will be another four weeks (ordered boxing day with an ETA of aprox 2 weeks)

Mind me asking where you sourced yours from, and if its not too crude to ask, what you gave for it (tell me to mind my own of course!)?

Good to know they're being issued with the Pelicase…. no guarantee mine will though.

    First class watches.

The code was displayed on their website as a pop up, only valid on boxing day hence me taking the plunge there & then (following some social lubricant).

That does look very interesting, apart from the goddamn red seconds hand. Why do watch manufacturers keep doing that? Grrrrr.

For those that have got this watch - are you enjoying it and what's your view on quality and value? I'm debating whether this would be a valuable addition to my collection.

Had mine for a few months now - really happy with it. For what you get, the value is amazing - extremely well made watch with 80hr power reserve, 2 well made straps and a very nice peli case. Cant think of much else that comes close at the moment. Only bug bear for me is the leather strap is a smidge to big - needs a couple more holes. Other than that, its spot on.

Have it on an Erika's Black Opps now, really suits it well.

You can preorder one at Jurawatches with the NY19 coupon. Ends up at £400.21 and you get free delivery. Does not sounds too bad except the waiting them to get it on stock.

It's a great watch, comfortable and looks great. Size is no different to a seiko diver. Quality is great for the price. The only reason I'm not wearing now is my Newmark 6bb arrived today

I've seen wearing it on the NATO as the leather strap doesn't have enough holes for my wrist.

Those straps go really well with it.
I'm a big fan of Erika's straps. Got 3 or 4 at this stage.

Good point well made.... Just back from a short ban : (

On a more positive note, only 3 weeks to wait now fingers crossed. And Certina have confirmed that they are all now supplied in the Peli-case.

    Welcome back
I woke up to a review of this watch in my news feed, seems it's another retro inspired watch, very close to the original, only noticeable difference being it's a little bigger and iirc the red seconds hand. I actually really like it especially on the NATO.

    Sorry!

I'm pretty new & never read the rules, assumed the odd expletive wouldn't go amiss on a predominantly adult forum.... lesson learned.

Hope the 20% makes it worthwhile!

My Black Friday purchase finally arrived today. Long wait but the jeweller did honour the price when they stocked out while I was dilly dallying with one in my basket. Echoing the great price / quality commentary! Has anyone managed to get a decent seatbelt buckle shark mesh in the UK?

Mine landed on Friday (ordered 26/12/18).

Have to echo the common sentiment; it seems to be a great watch!

The supplied leather strap is spot on and really suits it, the canvas nato (although not my taste) is of good quality, both buckles are branded.
Pelicase is a nice touch, not a cheapo.
Bezel action is really positive with little play.
    Lume is impressive.
Power reserve, so far so good.
Case back is way above what I expected.
Contrast between polished bezel (& crown) and brushed case is nice.
    LOVE the hands!
Domed (hestalite) crystal really sets it off.
Time & date setting / crown action is as smooth as a babys.
Thought the red crosshairs on the dial was a risk, but very subtle in reality, a nice touch.

Lots to like about this watch; an instant hit for me.

Only downside to me, the printed indexes on the crown aren't that sharp at certain angles... it does wear big but its a 43 mm watch!

Nice watch! Defo on my wish list. I hope there will be soon some bargains again!
How do you find this big crown? Is it digging sharply into upper hand when worn loose?

I don't find the crown particularly big nor pronounced (compared to some of my watches). I don't wear it tight and haven't had any issues.

Looks like it must be made by Roland kemmner .... that bezel and insert are very similar to my seahorse and even the hands look familiar.

Love Certina. I got into them with 1970s DS2s, which are still a great beginner’s buy, if you want to go vintage. They have the same caseback as this one but aren’t divers. I may well shout for one of these but does it sit ok on a 7-inch wrist. Shirt-cuffs?
