Good grief, why wasn't the bidding higher and who was the buyer?

    He’s a lucky boy.
Maybe he will get the £45k he wants for one of his milsub inserts.
Bit rich for me but we shall see.

They were listed as omega parts and guess no-one saw them or realised they were originals.

Buyer seems to be a guy on RWG a replica watch forum who got lucky....gotta feel for the sellers

The buyer appeared on another forum (VRF) if I remember correctly and the conclusion was that all the bezels and inserts were aftermarket. So not quite the lottery win the buyer had hoped for.

Wondering why people with no interest in watches are on a watch forum?

Not really concluded yet, although it is looking favorable for the buyer.

Crazy story... makes me wonder how the original eBay seller missed the value of the bezels.

Just read all 8 pages and it really is an amazing find, think the buyer bid up to £3000 but no one else noticed so £387 it was!

True what someone said about the market price - he is the market now as they are that rare, also it was mentioned that only MilSub owners would be interested but I think as an investment a lot of other speculators will be contacting him..

    What a find..

He also says if he'd had a better idea of what he was looking at he would have gone up to £15k! It's amazing that the seller didn't know what he had, only one person spotted ANY value but even then he only bid a fraction of the value.

Loved the bit from Roger about making the naive seller's Xmas one to remember. I wonder if the vultures who bought lots of mil subs and other high value Rolex items for below market value from clueless sellers also subsequently remembered to make the naive seller's subsequent Xmas one to remember

    I doubt it

Nice find for the buyer. If he's using the money to set himself up with a home etc, even better
