The MV Corsa was pretty satisfying with its torquey radial valved engine, unique for an IL4.

The BLNR was a nice addition too as I found myself travelling over 50 long haul flights logged in 2018.

    Okay. I'm now officially jealous!!

    It was this -

Then this came along which I really like -

Then recently I bought a watch I have always wanted so I guess this tops the list now -

For me, it is the Seiko Marinemaster (SBDX017) that I bought in August. I didn't wear any other watch since I put it on my wrist for the first time.

You decide, I can't. All three of these arrived this year:

    and the 125 too:

All watches I've wanted for a very long time, all made possible by finally deciding to sell of watches I wasn't wearing much. The problem now being I now have a lot more watches I don't wear much since these four came in...

Has to be my recently acquired Tudor BB Heritage chrono', this watch is going to seriously upset other watches in my collection for wrist-time.
Oh, and strangely, my tastes must be changing as I normally only wear 42mm plus, the BB's 41mm means it should wear too small for me, but it's fine! I now have the 2 Tudors, this one & the Heritage chrono' with the slate grey dial. They are really so well finished indeed, and with the BB having the BO1 movement, this has to be one of the best bang for buck chrono's available today I reckon.
I'll add a picture as soon as I get the time.
    Cheers.

Basically, I swapped the one on top for the two below...

As far as I'm concerned, this was a great decision.

I guess you can say I acquired her hand in marriage. So that wins.

Watch wise, it was almost all out for this single watch in.

I've only acquired two watches this year, in an attempt (for a variety of reasons) to curb my spending on 'stuff' a bit.

The first was my Schaffen S65 'Kickstarter', which took my eye and really stands out as a great value watch, imo.

Yes, it's very much 'in the style of' an IWC, but not one that they make any more and not one that I was familiar with before backing the KS project.

The second was a rather rash decision to purchase a Helson Sharkmaster 600 when they were reissued. In a wiser moment, I may well not have purchased it.

Having said that, when it arrived I was very pleased with it.

Personally, I think it's a great watch for the money, if you can accept its overt homage-ness (many will hate it for that, others admire it). I can cope with it, as the original is not a watch I'd ever buy, it's far too much of a niche watch for me to spend the kind of money required on it

The issues with WR are well documented, but mine's been tested to 20 Bar without issue, so it seems I struck lucky, but I'm expecting the replacement seals and retaining ring and will probably have them fitted by a local watchmaker at some future date, rather than incur the hassle of returning it to Helson.

Which is my favourite? Hard to choose really, as they're so different.

The Helson's had more wear, so maybe that's the answer, but the Schaffen was always going to be a 'dressier' (Wear with a suit) kind of watch, so I didn't expect to wear it a lot.

Since this arrived back in the spring, I’ve worn very little else. Odd that it is from a brand I’m a bit cold on, and it’s quartz (although TC)

    Very satisfied indeed.

That's an easy one... Knew it had to be done as soon as it was released, and got my grubby mitts on it as an early wedding present for myself. Couldn't be happier!

I thought it would have been the UX SDR to replace my standard Sinn, love it on rubber / NATO, bracelet probably less so.

However since it has arrived, my Damasko DA36 on bracelet has been so good, I’ve not even tried other straps on it yet. Probably for my sub 7” wrist it is a better size than the UX even though I do prefer larger watches.

Quite fancy a white dial full lume one.

Sold the 42mm polar explorer 2 early in the year, acquired the 40mm explorer 2 polar recently. The thought of skiing without the explorer 2 polar was enough motivation.

    This in February for birthday

But this in November which might mean no significant (watch) purchases in 2019 as we're doing a complete refurbishment inside and out.
