    Incoming of the rapid kind

Picked up my Exige Sport 380 this morning. Lots of traffic on the drive home, but I went out for a quick blast on some local A roads a couple of hours ago & I still have a stupid grin on my face.

A couple of quick phone shots taken in poor light.

Take it easy mate, I remember the day when I first picked up my 3 L V6 TVR and nearly stacked it 300 yards from where I picked it up, I survived and learnt my lesson about new cars and getting used to them before stretching them to the limit.
Car looks great by the way!

That's some bit of kit, congratulations. I thought you'd opt for another GT3 to be honest, it sounds like you're not regretting your choice!

Very nice Andy, would be interested to hear your initial views on it compared to the gt3 and your thoughts further down the line. Great day for a blat!

Mr Tims that thing is a blooming work of art, I’m a massive lotus fan but that’s no reason for my bias the evora is a genuinely exceptional car, enjoy her

Lovely. Here's hoping for some dry, cold clear days to enjoy it over the Christmas break.

Looks awesome, where did you get it?

Is it going to be for road or track use?

Hopefully you'll get some dry weather, I picked up a gen2 Cayman S the other week and am yet to drive it without needing the windscreen wipers!!!

Very nice Andy, have they stepped into the canards argument or are they made of something soft?

Thanks for all the positive comments.

Compared to the GT3 it’s has even faster acceleration (lighter, quite a bit more torquey and with shorter gearing) and down some back roads I know well I got a clear run yesterday. I was able to carry a fair bit more speed than would have been comfortable in the GT3. The Exige is a bit more compliant and being lighter seems to deal better with poorly surfaced roads. The GT3 is quite lively at speed on poor surfaces, needing lots of small steering input, but in fairness it’s on track geo settings which do make a difference. It’s quite a lot louder, more of the time. The GT3 only gets loud at 5,500rpm plus. I will need a less noisy back box to avoid getting chucked off of UK track days, which is a shame, because it sounds mega. The Exige is obviously a lot more snug and less practical in terms of carrying luggage. Steering in both cars is ace, but with no power assistance it’s much heavier at low speed in the Exige.

I certainly plan to track it. A big reason for getting the car was to give myself something new to learn how to fully exploit.

The cannards are solid. Apparently they provide very little downforce of themselves, but help with the overall airflow.

Long been a desire to own a Clio 182 (I think which stems from a friend years ago owning a phase 1 Clio 172 which was a hoot) - the 182 Trophy just looks superb. Cheers.
