    Completely agree.

But the OP36 ran a very close second...

The OP is a lovely watch but, even so, imo the 36mm Explorer wins hands down. There is nothing I would change. On the other hand, Rolex have beefed up the lugs on the modern OPs - it's only slight but the result is a watch shape that has become more rectangular, a little less elegant and with a less natural progression to the bracelet. To my eye, the Exp is also the most flexible watch Rolex has produced, the arabic numerals and absence of the crown at 12 make it sporty but, at the time time, it works perfectly in more formal situations. What a berk I was to sell mine ...

I have tried the 36 again recently, vs my 39. To be honest, there’s little in the size to sway me on the size. Both are nicely sized, and 39mm is certainly not overlarge.

I think the comfort, solidity and adjustment of the current bracelet is a huge plus, as is the 3132 movement.

Is that a Rolex jubilee or something else? I remember bodging a Seiko jubilee to fit my Everest and quite liked the result.

It's a new super jubilee from a datejust. Makes you want even more Rolex just to change around the bracelets.

And here it is in the snow.

    And long exposure.

Cracking photos there. Looks suprisingly good on the rubber, have you tried it on a nato or anything else?

I tried it on a nice Barenia leather strap, which I liked, but nothing beats the bracelet.

What's the bracelet fit like on the ex1 ? Does the easylink do the Job or can you still find yourself struggling for the right fit ?

The normal micro adjustments in the clasp allow a decent range of fit, and the easylink is perfect for hot days etc.

Yep, you’ve essentially got 1/3 link micro adjustment in the clasp, +1/2 on the easy link.

    You can’t go wrong.

I really can't see any faults with the 39mm Explorer, if you have a bigger wrist. It is everything a Rolex should be. Tough, precise, understated and bloody beautiful. Perfect really.

Indeed, a great choice for a daily wearer - one not to fuss about. Picked one up myself on the Eve, full set with stickers (now removed) and guarantee card, which surprised me a little, it being from one of “those” mainstream ADs with a reputation for withholding same.

Flippin Flip I like the look of that Explorer on a jubilee! I bought a 16570 Explorer II as found the former 36mm Explorer too small and the pre-2016 214270 didn’t appeal at all. I’m starting to be drawn to this latest iteration if only I could try one on without having to buy one!
