    Something peculiar from Citizen

Got an promo e-mail from Citizen - amongst the things advertised was this
    https://www.citizenwatch.co.uk/citiz...,1G9X4R,ADEJ,1

What an odd thing - crowns at 12 and 5 o'clock, Pushers at 11 and 1, some mysterious subdial at 9 o'clock...anyone have a clue as to what the point is?
Claims to have a 'hand assembled' eco-drive movement, which strikes me as an odd claim. Quite a nice looker, but not at £645 thanks.

Not a bad effort, however I am not sure the legibility is there due to their decision to put white hands on the white face.. Just an observation.

    weird

I’ve got the orange dial version and paid £590 I think.

It’s a bit fiddly to set the time, due to the position of the buttons but it’s a very nice looking watch IMHO:)

I couldn't see the hands! - better in orange for that reason...

So the sub-dial on the left is a charge meter?? That's a nice idea as I've always wondered how charged my Eco-drives are. But aren't the crowns and pushers at these unusual positions hard to use??

The orange version is much easier to read and overall better looking watch imo.

Guessing the crown at 5 sets the alarm?

Dial is a bit busy and the date position kinda weird but bullheads are always cool.

I like the blue one best

Very similar to the old bullhead designs. Got a retro vibe as a result. Quite like it.

I like it, ok it's a little crazy but what the heck, just wish the charge indicator was smaller, oh and it was about half the price.

Not enough 12hr chronographs have a 60 minute subdial - great that they've included one here.

    I prefer the orange.

I found the white and blue on sale at Macy's in the U.S. at 428 and 482 GBP, respectively. Don't know if they ship to UK.

I like the orange too - it’s interesting and the good kind of crazy.

Having had a chrono with a 60 minute subdial, the difficulty I had being sure exactly which minute was being pointed at made me resolve never to have one again.

    Stunning. Corso series.

Movement actually IS hand assembled. It is evolution of 2100 movement, and it is mechanical flyback chrono with Eco-drive base. Watch itself is love-hate design but so are these

I saw the white one in the flesh the other day. Not as crazy or blingy in real life and certainly carried the size (45mm) better than might be expected. Would love one of the original automatics though.

That's another bugbear...the strap ones at least appear to have some sort of non standard strap mounting arrangement, which would be a complete deal breaker for me, even if I was otherwise very keen.

Love the orange one but not keen on the date window if I’m honest

Citizen get passed by so often, which is a shame as they make some interesting and attractive watches.
I am so sick of blue watches here and blue watches there it would have to be the orange.
Looks like it might be able to flip oneself into an alternate reality too 💀

Pushers seem in more natural positions than usual. If I put my right hand over left wrist that’s where forefinger is. Thumb easily under watch to push against too.

Agree that date window is poor, would prefer it horizontal.
