Thread: What will Tudor surprise us with at BASEL 2019

It's a "meh", from me. I think to expect a sub was a stretch, and as people are still queuing up for the BB58 and GMT, why bother releasing variations just yet? It's money in the bank.
The P01 looks to me like an SKX mod. Strange really, when Tudor do elegant/beautiful, they knock it out of the park, but there's few who do ugly quite as well as them, and this is bowling shoe ugly.

That P01 is disgusting. Looks like wearing a really unrefined slab of SS on your wrist. As someone said earlier, it does remind me of the PRS-40, again I am not a fan of as I don't understand the appeal.

Current preoccupation with vintage and heritage inspired watches has finally jumped the shark. What a mess.

I like it, providing the horrible strap can be removed and left in the box. On a normal strap I reckon it will look great.

So looking at the lug hole and the mechanism, looks like you are stuck with the fugly strap?

Pretty sure that is their main release! But the other half of that sentence is bang on.

I was hoping someone else would buy one and sell it on at a massive loss, having established a normal strap will fit and make it look significantly better than it does with that awful lock mechanism strap. Never mind.

Id like to be the first to nickname it the Tudor POS.

Looks like the bastard lovechild of a Seiko 007 and a Snowflake.

I'm enjoying what an unloved outcast it is, like Ivan Lendl at Wimbledon in the late 80s. And the brushing looks very nice

Going against the tide on here I find it an interesting watch and would certainly consider it being Tudor no2 in my collection.

The SKX Bay  Seiko will be lawyering up as we speak haha!

Very disappointing selection from Tudor this year, guess it means next year has to be an improvement!

Not surprised there is not a sub but genuinely surprised there are no more bb 58 variants. Pretty poor set of watches for my taste.

Tudor PO1, rejected by the US Marines... it never came to fruition for good reason! Why would anyone else want one, then?

Bizarre thinking from Tudor. Still, they had a good run the past few years.

Me too. Seemed unlikely after the BB58 release last year. Did expect to see some 58 variations though.

I think that might look ok with a standard bracelet, or a normal strap.
It's just a matter of time...

    £2830.

Or for £270 less you can grab a BB58 on bracelet.

Well that has saved me some money.
I would rather have a Rolex...
Disappointing from Tudor and I can’t see it being a big seller.

This is awful. I will now definitely be spending money elsewhere, as others have said that is an upside! Will very much be in the market for a BB58 soon I think...

Glad the blnr is not discontinued but I can’t see past the jubilee. The oyster suited the watch so much more. How much is a sub bracelet from Rolex?

What will Tudor surprise us with at BASEL 2019

    Actually rethinking this...
This is so ugly it is unlikely to be a big seller, so odds on Tudor drop it from their line up quickly. I am off to buy one as it will be one of the rarest watches Rolex / Tudor will ever make and this will mean its worth millions in a few years.
Another plus is Yobokies and Degaz will not have to manufacture any new parts for the inevitable SKX mods as they have them already.
    Always a sliver lining.

Would like to see it it without that nasty looking strap, but oh dear!!
On the plus side, I think my bb58 will hold its value for a while

£1550 but you’ll need a sub there to put it on.

Agreed. I have a feeling that SC won’t be seeing the predicted glut of sub £2k BB58s.

Look at the length of the lugs, even if you liked the look of the bezel etc you can’t get past the crazy long lugs even if you wanted to put it on a dive strap or leather. There’s taking inspiration from a prototype and then there’s taking the worst bits from a prototype.

What a disappointing set of releases. A bronze BB, still 43mm in a dial colour no-one needed, the POS, and a load of bi-metal stuff no-one asked for.
The only forward step (for me) is the fact that there is now a Tudor jubilee bracelet, albeit only bi-metal and therefore irrelevant.
Such a plethora of potentially great releases could have been made, and every single one they plumped for is a miss. By miles.
I am truly disappointed - I thought a little 50th B'Day present to myself was on the cards, but from this lot? No way.
