Great isn’t it that ‘affordable’ watches are taking the lime light this year. Does anyone even care what Rolex might launch this year?

  2. #202
Couldn’t give a hoot about Rolex.

Now if Tudor can just give me a BB58 with a date, change the gilt hands and markers for white gold, and a green bezel.... I’ll never buy another watch!

And they have a design department that does seem to understand what is going to be popular.
How are Tudor's sales doing now? It was maybe a couple of years ago, I remember someone (probably HM) saying that it was essentially only Black Bays that were doing good business. I wonder what the current state of play is.

I think that comment was in relation to sales in the UK market and similar. In China the parts of the ranges which we take no notice of sell much better. Not very many years ago, 90% of Tudor sales were in China. By a couple of years ago that was down to something like 60-70% iirc. But then a significant proportion of watch sales in the UK are to tourists from the east, so that muddies the issue.

I’d love to see a smaller Ranger model, preferably 36-38mm. Or some variation of one🤞.

A heritage version of the big block crono yum

Hopefully get a new sub hopefully without the cyclops and with a black dial and the pelagos clasp that would make me happy
But in reality more colours on bb58 yawn

Well we’ll know in a couple of weeks, then we can all retire to the pub to discuss.

More sense than worrying about Rolex, lists and if Tudor makes the cut as little brother

And perhaps help Tudor catch their breath after the excessively successful GMT and 58 last year?

Inspired by this alleged Tudor prototype for the USMC.

If this is a genuine leak of anything official then the most disappointing thing is how poor Tudor's render quality is.

The watch is also pretty ghastly, mind.

Edit: maybe it does fit the original teaser after all, at the 12 o'clock position of the dial. If this is it, though... wow there's going to be some deflation from the community.

It has got me wondering if Rolex Group might print dummy brochures (which these are clearly photographed from) to throw watch hunters off the scent of real releases!

  24. #224
Ha ha ha - that is an awful piece of shit. Nobody is going to make that ever.

I’m cracking up - cannot believe it is even being discussed!

As an aside, I'd like to see a Black Bay 58 in bronze, keeping the 'Explorer dial' of the full-size one.

Actually, there are so many great potential new Tudors: Ranger in 36-38mm, North Flag with the power reserve, ceramic bezel, and yellow accents removed, the Submariner we thought we were going to get (perhaps closer to the Marine Nationale blue dial watches), Black Bay 58 variations... none of those would be difficult to make.

Previously I mentioned a smaller Pelagos with 58 movement, Pelagos GMT, Heritage Chrono with in-house movement, and a bi-metal GMT...

Obviously, they're not going to release a decade's worth of models at once, but I, like almost everyone, will be disappointed if the current leaks are all there is this year. (The bi-metal Chrono is good looking, admittedly.)

Well let’s hope so. I mean there’s probably two people out there that would want the old prototype of that to be a reality but even if they did want one they got nothing like it so I’m hoping it’s rubbish.

It will definitely be serious community deflation if it is the reality behind the sub hype.

The ‘daytonna’ is nice to my eye but that’s gotta be sus too considering the Dayton pushers when the BB chrono pushers are different?

Does this Rolex passion report place actually have history of genuine leaks or is it just a hype up social fest?

I think they made 5 predictions last year and one was correct. Not quite Mystic Meg quality

If someone has used Photoshop or whatever to create a fake catalogue to feed to RPR.....that would be very entertaining. More entertaining than most the watches pictured.

Patek seem to have been lifting them today as a drip feed looking at Hodinkee

Ok, so they’re just chancers then.

It does seem a really obscure reference for RPR to dream up for the Tudor though. And it could tie in with the “it does exist” and the safe etc from Tudor over recent weeks.

I’m hoping they’re wrong on that one at least! I fail to see any demand for it, half the people I’ve seen comment on IG and forums over recent months (with the sub buzz) don’t seem to know that Tudor had a Submariner from the 50’s and running for 40’odd years alongside Rolex let alone grasp an obscure reference like that!

Don't know what they were thinking here. The watch head in itself looks like the black bay steel with a different crown position. That's fine, but the bracelet/strap is horrendous.

Very disappointing. I think they may have staged announcements in the past, but I think the highlights were always announced first.

A long line of winners (Monte Carlo chrono, BB range, North Flag etc) has come to an end, it seems. Overdue I suppose.

This piece of crap isn’t their main release, but my god it’s bloody awful. Truly funny actually. Like they set out to build the world’s ugliest watch.
