It's pretty cool, and as a tool for traders it's definitely got its uses. It also looks like something that will suck every last bit of joy out of this hobby, making watches an asset rather than something to be enjoyed.
Chrono24 has a facility to create an account and a personal profile.
One of the functions is that you can add details of watches you own and it provides some basic info and an estimate of current and historic value.
Anyone else use it out of interest?
Quite handy when it comes to updating insurance schedules etc
Guess the watch......

Its a rolex!!
Admittedly it could be any one of quite a few....
OK its a SD16600.
Great until someone hacks the site and makes off with the value of everyones collection.

Only drawback is it bases values on current listing prices and chrono24 is usually overpriced from what I can see (possibly factoring in their costs)
Submariner. Agree with Rusty, Chrono24 prices are usually bonkers.
If your insurance policy is new-for-old, surely the valuation you need is the current new replacement value, not the current value of your watch based on Chrono24 values?

That was my conclusion. I deleted my C24 collection for this reason.

it uses the word 'estimate' alot - use for novelty factor only.
And imagine if your other half stumbled across that and found out how much they were really worth...

Twice now I have sold watches on Chr24 after no bites here - each time I went with their suggested valuation and had an offer each time, so it seems they are useful to an extent. I recently listened a No Date Longines Legend Diver for Ł1600 which I knew was optimistic (more than I paid when it first came out) but had an offer. In the end I didn't sell it as I was able to raise funds elsewhere, luckily... but good to know it's going up in 'value'
