The "proper"present was going to be Bose sleepbuds so Mrs Gyp would be better equipped to cope with my snoring, but having discovered that they are "noise masking" rather than "noise cancelling" they're going back to the shop and she's getting a bottle of perfume and some earplugs

    Whatever she wants!

My wife is nine years younger and has a very well-paying job. I'm retired.

And ironically, she's bought me a shooting jacket.

    [insert jokes about shooting here]

They do look odd, I grant you, but they are colour coded so you put them in the correct ears each time

I bought her an essential oil diffuser and some oil, some fancy shampoo and conditioner and a couple of books.

I knew she wanted some more earrings and I was dithering about online, showed her what I thought and she remarked she had seen what she wanted in town, so she toddled off yesterday and bought what she wanted without any input from me.... Just how I like it!
    Cheers,
    Neil.

So I’m gonna complete the set.

    Bought her an IRon
Don't bother, I bought my Mrs this gadget for Xmas 2 years ago & it sits in the cupboard pretty much unused :(
She has asked for a new Hoover this year but I can see exactly the same thing happening again.

Like many we don't bother with gifts to ourselves, I'm waiting for the sales and we'll buy a new TV/sound bar for the lounge and have booked a few days in Berlin for us both end of January. The kids are getting one main present each and then things like clothes etc that they need anyway we're pretty much done with the buy the whole toy shop and they'll play with the boxes instead.

Our new sofa finally turned up a couple of days ago, loinfruit the younger decided to eat biscuits all over it and the Mrs was having a moan about how the crumbs got stuck in the stitching creases. I made the comment that perhaps I should get her a dust buster for xmas - I'm now sleeping on the new sofa....

Just offered to give her a day off cooking (found out the village curry house will be doing takeaways) - she's been unusually quiet all day so I guess she's thinking about it 🤗

Giving mine a day off cooking would be a gift for me. She burns everything. Even frosties.

Dammit..... The coat I had on special order hasn’t arrived.... (I did order it 3 weeks ago...honest...) which means I’m out tomorrow on a secondary present hunt... They always end up expensive.

A straitjacket and some gobstoppers. Hoping the latter actually is literal.

Could have been much worse! You could have suggested buying her TWO dust busters so she could vacuum in stereo, that would have relocated your sleeping arrangements to the garden!

    Have a good one!

But she did ask me to get one of those ladies sack bags so...
