Funny old things these. I want to like them, the idea appeals to me but the execution is just rubbish. That big canteen thing on the side should give amazing water resistance but it's just 100m, which is still admittedly more than most of us will ever need. The lume is poor, the dial is basic, the hands are all too short and what the hell is going on with that date window and the number 3? It's like they're trying to copulate.

Lovely watches for people who don't care about the small details and just want something that looks kinda cool. Otherwise: No ta, I'll pass.

I’ve felt like this about them for years. A bloke in my office wears one without the huge barnacle on the side and it always looks pretty nice. For anyone looking for one though, these prices are fantastic.

Wondering why people with no interest in watches are on a watch forum?

Of course, I'm being unnecessarily harsh and viewing it from a different angle than their target market. You're absolutely right that for £40 It's perfectly good and is a decent stocking filler.

Thanks for the heads. Will purchase tonight for my dad as beater watch, can’t complain for that price.

Some Panerais have a huge Crown guard, which IMHO look a bit ridiculous. But it seems its fine on a Panerai, but not on a TWSteel....
As for the TWSteels I have actually toyed with the Panda dialed one a couple of times (I am irresistably drawn to Panda dials), but the details seem a bit crass even for my vulgar tastes!

I presume the prices show how much they would pay you to wear it? If so how long would you have to wear it for, and does it have to be in public?

I suppose there must be some people who think having a comedy manhole cover strapped to your wrist is fashionable or desirable, but I can't think of any.
Good luck everybody. Have a good one.

If you want a U-Boat, just save up and buy one 2nd hand - they aren't much more than this

Blimey - you go to work for the day and it all happens :)
Glad it’s of use to some - cheap enough and pretty well made - enjoy !

Not much love for these on here, but mine turned up today (should say dads Xmas present). Checked it out in the flesh and was impressed for the price point of £50. Presentation box different but lead to the overall bigger/ masculine vibe TW Steel want to give off. Build quality seems ok, dial felt small and had to check it's size compared to the Panerai & U Boat, strap seemed ok and nice buckle. Felt incredible light, but must be due to the quartz movement. Lume seemed poor, but may be better out of the box and destickered.

Yes it's a quartz, oversized fashion brand, but for the price I'd be happy wearing this as a beater, compared to the others I see. Also a bit different from Seiko, Citizen etc. Each to their own I guess.

Great value for money, and if you go for the larger size watch, why not?
Not my cup of tea but horses for courses.
    If they did a 38mm, well... :-)

TW Steel doing a small watch would be contradiction in terms...rather like Rolex doing a cheap plastic watch!
