A few years ago I gave the brother of a friend of mine a bottle of whisky as a gift when he returned the the USA. The next time my friend came back she had a bottle of bourbon from her brother as a returning gift. I think she said it cost about $60.
The bottle has sat the the back of my cupboard for 6 years until friday when I came across it whilst looking for a bottle to take to a party. In case it was terrible I searched for tasting notes and discovered it might be a bit special.
The bottle in question is Black Maple Hill, Premium Small Batch Bourbon. There are a few versions, but my bottle looks exactly like this : https://www.boutiquewineshoppe.com/s...al-bottle.html
That's the cheapest I've seen online - most places sell it above $1000.
Here's a UK site with it: https://www.thewhiskyvault.com/black...on-15385-p.asp
I don't like bourbon much, so this is wasted on me. I could get a dozen excellent single malts for the same price.
So, have I got lucky, and if so - how do I sell it?

I will stick to JD and JB. That’s one helva price for a bottle of Bourbon
It is now a rare bottle because the new version is made in Oregon.
If you wish to sell the best place is Whisky Auctioneer in Perth , last one went for £451.00 .

Check out www.scotchwhiskyauctions.com .. another reputable bunch to sell privately held bottles of whisky. I have bought from them several times before with zero issues so would assume selling is an equally painless process.
Ooo I thought 'a thread about bourbon, I might be able to say something remotely useful.
Then I note the price of £800 a bottle.
I'm oot.
Can't be bothered to walk to the kitchen, but have about 9/10 bottles at the moment. Just shocked myself that the post expensive is now about £150 a bottle - JD Silver Select. Bought from duty free for about £50 a few years back.
Thanks for the response in the thread - looks like £450 seems to be the going rate with the odd outlier above £700.
I'll probably send it up to one of auctioneers mentioned above as they look good.
I would skip the January auction , it seems to be the lowest results of the year.
