    Pete Shelley RIP

Just heard Pete Shelley has passed away at 63. Loved the Buzzcocks, saw them many times.
RIP Pete, thanks for the music

Sad news. I remember seeing him on Top of the Pops for the first time.

Ever Fallen In Love is one of the iconic New Wave tunes.

That really is bad news. Bloody hell!

I still listen to his first solo album as well as all the Buzzcocks stuff.

    A sad, sad loss. RIP

Oh no....loved the Buzzcocks. Another Music in a Different Kitchen was one of my first album purchases...

Only just coming to terms with the loss of Bowie, now this.

I played Another Music a lot when it came out and saw them a few times back in their (Howard Devoto) heyday.

    Sad news :-(

He was an absolute genius when it came to writing perfect pop songs, Singles Going Steady is one of best collection of pop songs that I can think of.

I was too young to have seen them first time around (I would have been ten when "Ever Fallen in Love" came out). I first saw them at The Clapham Grand in about 1989/90, last saw them supporting the Pogues outside Greenwich Naval College in 2011.

First time I saw them was at Chelmsford Odeon 1978, then at many new wave events. They supported the Sex Pistols in Finsbury park in 1998. Last time I saw them was at the Pink Toothbrush in Rayleigh probably 15 years ago. Had a chat with Pete, he still loved what he was doing. They played Chelmsford two years ago but I could not go.

What a shame - no age.

Remember when they first came out. Always great.

    RIP Pete.
    Cheers,
