    I've still have the original

Are these using the same processors, so exactly the same playing experience?

    Sold the original one unfortunately...
If I‘m not mistaken, it‘s some kind of emulation, so not the original processors I‘m afraid. But since it‘s from Sony I expect nothing less than the original feeling.

I still have my PS2 and have been trying, not successfully, to get it to hook up to an HDMI screen, mainly to play PS1 games like Battletanx and Rainbow 6.

I don't suppose these play PS2 games, do they? It's an ideal solution if they do.

I lost so many hours playing one of these!

Does it play any old PS1 game on a disc, or is it only whatever games it comes loaded with?

Read a bit more about these - 20 games built in, and that's all you get! Pretty good for £90 but no Battletanx and no option to add other games. Pity.

My sons arrived this morning. Dickhead delivery driver just left it on the doorstep in the rain.
Didn’t think it was going to be THAT small.

Fond memories of Resident Evil and Metal Gear but fonder memories of Wipeout. I’m surprised it doesn’t feature on this version.

Wipeout was an icon of a game at the time... no argues there.

  19. #19
I think I'll get one for my boy this Christmas. I agree that the lack of Wipeout is a shame, but that's probably more to do with the licencing of the music, isn't it?

Yeah, Commodore 64, when sharing this link with an old friend he said to me "we were C64 fanboys in our day" and provided a link to this https://www.mediamarkt.nl/nl/product...html#meer-info

I have never used mine, it was in my loft when we moved in.
There is a box full of games on floppy disc, all originals along with a few dozen original cassette games too.

PS1 games include several Abe's Odyssey games, I loved these as did my kids.
Favourite is FF7, followed by the charity 'Help' compilation of Broken Sword, Myst and Road Rash.
    Great fun!

    Weird final selection I thought.
Metal Gear, Resident Evil and Oddworld make this a must-have for original console owners.
Not thrilled about Rainbow Six and Syphon Filter both being included - not with epic FPS like Final Doom and Hexen out there.

Also no "sim" games. Command and Conquer, Theme Park, Jurassic Park Genesis - all awesome time-killers.
Racing games look good, but really did it need Destruction Derby AND Twisted Metal?
Ridge Racer 4 was a superb arcade racer so no complaints there, but Destruction Derby and Twisted Metal are a bit too similar. Drop one of those for Gran Turismo 2 and this becomes an essential!

I'm still having one. First job is to load Grand Theft Auto, find a "cossie" and run down a line of orange Hare Krishnas.

Not being a buzzkill but you know for that price you could knock up raspberry pi based emulation console that gives you every console and home computer up to the PS2.

I cancelled my pre-order for it after reading the previews and reviews. This video really tipped the balance:

I remember loading MAME64 and discovering you could play old arcade games such as Galaxian, Tank Zone, Scramble, Phoenix and even Lunar Lander and Frogger that used to be table games in the pub. Happy days.

I did get hugely into Common Macrea rally on PS but stopped as it was giving me headaches!
