send my request, never used Strava, but I have signed up and I have managed to link my elderly Microsoft Band 2 watch to Strava, hopefully it will sync later.

I must admit I do need a bit of motivation over the winter months.

    Cheers

I did think about joining this but prefer to keep my Strava profile locked down as much as possible. I'd encourage all of you to take a look at your privacy settings as, for example with some of the running maps, it mightn't be too difficult to work out where you live. In any case, have fun.
    In the Sotadic Zone, apparently.

Nobody else now needs to worry about being the slowest/crappest (and I won't worry too much about it either).

Joined and then went out mountain biking...
I guess I should join the TZ UK cycling section too unless they're roadies only.

You can set privacy zones based on postcodes on your account with varying radius' (radii?) to avoid letting people know where you live. it's had some teething troubles but seems to work on my account when I view flybys

Long story but I have unfortunately just applied for and received a place in the Berlin marathon! So now I need to go and buy some running shoes and get some motivation going. Hope my application is accepted!

    Request sent.

After years of running the last 18 months have been a bit dormant and I need something to get my mo-jo back.

Don’t expect too much this side of Christmas but 2019 I will get going.

    Excellent idea and ta

No rhyme or reason…. I’ve slept terribly ( I never get insomnia) and feel generally exhausted…. Hauled myself out at lunch, whilst giving myself every reason to not bother, and I ran a seasons best - 5km @ 5.24km pace (a nudge over 27 mins)

Still want to get back to my pre injury 25min pace, but, that’ll take some time…

    Feel exhausted again now :-(

Ps…. Who’s this David bloke…. He’s making us all look bad!!!

I must admit i've only been out twice since I joined the group, mostly because yesterday morning I was still a little 'sensitive' from my works night out on Saturday

I'm probably not as competitive or have the pace of other runners in the group but I do try to get out regularly, just to get myself a little fitter - I'll get out in the morning I promise!

Anyone else had a “follow request “ from Debbie Landry ? I clicked on her profile and the opening comment was “ nice, i’m a doctor and I want sex” with a web link.

    Blocked.

Half marathon completed this morning in just under 1 hour 50 minutes - first time above 12k for me in 10 weeks and it was good to find out the legs and mind still has it in them to do a half

My aim for the year is to be running 5k sub 20min. I’m at 25ish now so we’ll see.

Well done and an excellent time.

Did 5.8km this morning and the struggle was real, legs felt like they had lead balloons tied to them.
Think all the Christmas food and drink caught up with me today.

Thanks - this year has been great

Another 19km and I will have completed 600km since June having never really ran before

I’ve lost 4.5 stone through diet and exercise

Alongside that I’ve managed the times below as PB’s

    5k - 21.28 (haven’t tried to PB since August)
    10k - 43.34
    Half - 1.39.01

Target for next year is to run 1000 miles, do my first marathon and circa 2-4 half marathons

Well done to all those getting out…. Managed a very gentle 5.5km after suffering from a sore back…. Had big plans to do lots of runs, but, wasn’t to be…. Will build it up a little next week!

Bumped back up to the top to attract the New Year Resolutioner's.

Back into Mizuno Waveriders again after a 4 year break, I must admit they do seem more cushioned and spongy than the last pair I had!

Completed the 3.55 mile pace race today, went much quicker than my predicted time (24.47 versus 27.25)

Winner predicted 18.15 and ran 18.14 which is incredible and they were also first across the line

Well after a two year break (maybe the odd run here and there) and struggling to get the mojo back, I have decided enough is enough and just back from my first 5k for nearly two years, just over the 30 minutes.

It's the first time running since running a couple of times on the prom in Marbella in August following my wife's trainers and hoping this group will give me the push and incentive I need.

    Happy New Years all.

Likewise! I might try a few short runs, but I’m unlikely to do a lot - at least I’ll try and record it when I do :)

Rattled out 5.4km this morning, would of been easy to not to bother as it was snowing and there was a couple of inches on ground as well, stuck to the pavements due to the conditions, legs will feel it tomorrow as it’s my first run in a couple of weeks.
