Well guys we had a fairly active TZ Cycling Club that still remains live on Strava so I have set up the TZ UK Running Club for those who are interested.
Aim is to gain motivation and strength through unity with likeminded members and will be invite only so the link below should work or PM me and ill add you by your Strava name

Join request sent. Need to up my miles next year so this will hopefully provide much needed motivation.
Request sent
send my request, never used Strava, but I have signed up and I have managed to link my elderly Microsoft Band 2 watch to Strava, hopefully it will sync later.
I must admit I do need a bit of motivation over the winter months.
Cheers
Rob
I just joined the TZ-uk cycling club on Strava. I'm a Strava-holic
Not bad, 10 members overnight so hopefully it’ll motivate us all at any level, the Cycling Club always goes quiet in the winter months so hopefully this will maintain an all round year fitness boost for all
I’ll be propping up the leaderboard
- but looks like I’ll have to enter my runs manually - not sure my Fitbit will sync with strava?

(only 7k today - Seem to have picked up foot injury)
I've requested to join but struggling with my knee at the moment so might not contribute much for a while. Hoping to do the Goring 10k next March but we'll see how the knee goes.
Joined, hoping to keep up my 30-40K weekly distance, so visibility will keep me motivated.
For those struggling with Strava imports would recommend RunGap app, which imports Apple, Nike, FiitBit, Garmin etc into Strava easily. Saves me having to carry phone with me, as I like running light and have an older non GPS Apple Watch
I'll join this when i'm home from work, started running last trip and thoroughly enjoyed it.
Just sent request over. Might force me to get backside in gear.

I think I have joined - apparently I already had a Strava account.
Growing everyday which is superb news and any level welcome.
Would anyone else like to be an admin ? I’m happy to do the adds so there’s not a lot to it really

I did think about joining this but prefer to keep my Strava profile locked down as much as possible. I'd encourage all of you to take a look at your privacy settings as, for example with some of the running maps, it mightn't be too difficult to work out where you live. In any case, have fun.
Joined.
Nobody else now needs to worry about being the slowest/crappest (and I won't worry too much about it either).

Another joinee :). Looking forward to running with you all.
Oops…. I used Strava for the first time today and also used Fitbit (which id synced with Strava). It appears to have logged my run twice so I’ve shot up the leaderboard - needs 7km deleting from it…
I like the elevation thing - apparently I ran up 67m
Soz!

Request sent, don't run very far and normally on a treadmill but hopefully this will get me out more👍
I like the idea of this and I use Strava already.
Is there a way though of making member's activities only visible to others in the group, or does it have to be viewable by everyone?
I see we have another triathlete who from his Strava clubs has done Ironman as well as Human Race events. As I don't know his TZ name, can he please drop me a PM so we can say "hi".
Thanks
Long story but I have unfortunately just applied for and received a place in the Berlin marathon! So now I need to go and buy some running shoes and get some motivation going. Hope my application is accepted!

Request sent.
After years of running the last 18 months have been a bit dormant and I need something to get my mo-jo back.
Don’t expect too much this side of Christmas but 2019 I will get going.
Excellent idea and ta
Pitch
Just joined, great idea to keep motivated.
No rhyme or reason…. I’ve slept terribly ( I never get insomnia) and feel generally exhausted…. Hauled myself out at lunch, whilst giving myself every reason to not bother, and I ran a seasons best - 5km @ 5.24km pace (a nudge over 27 mins)
Still want to get back to my pre injury 25min pace, but, that’ll take some time…
Feel exhausted again now :-(
Ps…. Who’s this David bloke…. He’s making us all look bad!!!

I must admit i've only been out twice since I joined the group, mostly because yesterday morning I was still a little 'sensitive' from my works night out on Saturday
I'm probably not as competitive or have the pace of other runners in the group but I do try to get out regularly, just to get myself a little fitter - I'll get out in the morning I promise!

Looking at some maps it appears I literally cross paths with a member here - run very similar routes - how funny 😁
Anyone else had a “follow request “ from Debbie Landry ? I clicked on her profile and the opening comment was “ nice, i’m a doctor and I want sex” with a web link.

Half marathon completed this morning in just under 1 hour 50 minutes - first time above 12k for me in 10 weeks and it was good to find out the legs and mind still has it in them to do a half
Congratulations nice time and what a journey in a year ! Hope your legs, hips and feet aren’t too sore tomorrow !

Well done and an excellent time.
Did 5.8km this morning and the struggle was real, legs felt like they had lead balloons tied to them.
Think all the Christmas food and drink caught up with me today.
Thanks - this year has been great
Another 19km and I will have completed 600km since June having never really ran before
I’ve lost 4.5 stone through diet and exercise
Alongside that I’ve managed the times below as PB’s
5k - 21.28 (haven’t tried to PB since August)
10k - 43.34
Half - 1.39.01
Target for next year is to run 1000 miles, do my first marathon and circa 2-4 half marathons
Well done to all those getting out…. Managed a very gentle 5.5km after suffering from a sore back…. Had big plans to do lots of runs, but, wasn’t to be…. Will build it up a little next week!
Back up to 10km today.
That’s probably about 1 mince pie I’ve burned off.
