Always interesting; only one Glashutte Original. And four APs. Some of the numbers are tiny for substantial brands. Perhaps it's just the UK and it's cautious tastes......

GO seemed to be much more popular on this forum a few years ago. Not much talk about them these days. Generally, the more expensive German pieces seem to have difficulties keeping up with their Swiss peers.

I find my GO a tad too dressy and struggle to wear it regularly - is this maybe an issue with the brand in general? Caught in between dressy and sporty? But I do agree the pricier pieces may struggle to keep up.

The other thought is maybe not quite a 'dress-down' Friday watch for some?

Thanks again for the list animalone

Do you lump Heuer in with Tag Heuer?

My inner troll wants to say "of course its the same brand"
But seriously if I had to do it for Heuer / TAG then I would have to do it for every other brand on the list that was bought and re-launched under new owners, and I'm just too lazy to put in the effort

Interesting, I am surprised that Rolex is so far ahead actually, I mean, they are pretty damn pricey. Also seems to be a bit of an anti-Rolex sentiment on this forum. But that may just be a vocal few that are bored of all the Rolexes! Also surprised great brands like Nomos, JLC and IWC are so low down.

    Thanks for the figures.

Thank you for taking the time to compile the data
It’s always good to see the breadth of makes that people own.

Can you elaborate on the alleged anti-Rolex sentiment? That's news to me.

Animalone counts and categorises the watches shown in the weekly Friday threads, it's a fun statistic showing which watches were worn on the Friday threads in any given month (go into Animalone's profile to find the earlier threads).

On a few threads that I had been reading and one I started, it just seemed that quite a few were very bored of people asking questions about Rolex. Which is fair as it happens a lot. And lots of insinuation towards - "why don't you try another brand, Rolex isn't the only watch brand you know".

Anti-Rolex might be a bit strong but still, I was surprised that Rolex was so far ahead.

Suppose people are indeed very bored of people asking the same kind of questions again and again and about the endless discussions about Rolex availability and prices. What used to be a forum of watch enthusiasts with interest in all kind of watches is slowly but surely shifting into a forum where Rolex availability, stickers, warranty papers and resale values are the most important topics. No small wonder people get bored if there is yet another thread about it.

That doesn't mean that there is no genuine love for Rolex watches - to the contrary, there is plenty of it.

Thanks animalone, great to see such a widespread of manufacturers ( and that my cheapo Seiko come second - now, had I just pulled that trigger on the Rolex I tried on.... )

    ^^^This

My GO is my most worn watch but as it is dress down day on Friday it doesn’t get much wear on that particular day!
