    6542 GMT 'Barn find'!

    Be interesting to see what Haywood and Lee make of this. Shouldn't it have a Bakelite insert?

    Certainly very rare, you don't see many pre-crown guard GMTs.

    When I saw that rubbish replacement dial I couldn't get excited to invest any further time in that one. Yes, 6542 bezel would normally have been Bakelite but very few of those brittle parts have survived.

    Let's cheer this thread up with one of my favourite purchases in 2018, a 6542 with original dial and bezel :-)

    That is great. On a side note I realise I have really taken to watches without crown guards.
