Just playing with a few ideas. This time with the ETA955.122 (same as in the CWC SBS) and initially only in steel and DLC. Any interest?

At 39mm hell yes!

Very nice, good idea. In ss and dlc with black dial only imo.
Looks fantastic Eddie. Any chance of a ceramic bezel?

I agree that a ceramic bezel, matte or dull rather than shiny would be great as it would be a massive improvement when compared to the CWC bezels which seem to be made from playdough. However If we are talking pie in the sky improvements, how about a ceramic lumed bezel?
I realise this would push the price way up though.
I like the fact the hands are closer in shape to the MOD style hands, it’s the thing that has stopped me buying the original PRS3. I think the installation of a thicker minute hand would be good change, closer in shape to the first versions of the CWC?

Looks great.
PVD is a definite winner.
That shade of blue is also very nice indeed, especially on the PVD case. Although I fully understand the coloured versions are bound to be attractive to a more niche audience.
A lumed bezel of any description would be a real plus, even if it is lume-filled engraving on an insert (but I agree a sapphire/ceramic one would be nice).
Is this an optical illusion, but the crown guards seem to protrude from the case a little more than I am used to seeing?
In order to keep dial symmetry, I would personally prefer to see a date only at 6, but I fully appreciate that the originals are as shown (D-D at 3) so am also perfectly fine with that.

ps - Eddie, it seems that your new design and manufacturing partnerships have lit the blue touch paper, you are "playing with a few ideas" a lot more frequently of late. Which is great
Given that I've a WTB for a PRS3-LE then yes, - blue or yellow please, drilled lugs 41mm max, plenty of lume, oh and an orange edged minute hand, in fact 'snowflake hands' the way Tudor did them.
"Once is happenstance. Twice is coincidence. The third time it's enemy action."
'Populism, the last refuge of a Tory scoundrel'.
The coloured (non black) dials would benefit from black edges to the hands for increased readability.
I like the PRS-3 LE hands better than the PRS4 Broadarrow hands - it was much easier to read the time with black edge highlights.
Yes!!!!!! I'm assuming they'd be as good and a damn sight better value than the CWC versions. With regard to returns, will the PRS-53 ever make a welcomed comeback?

At that size I'll be jumping on a yellow dial, steel case version please
I only sold my LE because it was just too chunky for me, but I do want to add a yellow dial diver to the collection. Good work!
Yes would love one, would love one even more if there was a no date option.
For me it would just be the standard black with silver or pvd. And a thumbs up for 39mm as mentioned above.

Well I have one, still love the original. Don't like day windows. Maybe a date with a cyclops?
fixed bars, nice nato strap and a dial without numerals....?

Any interest?
Hell yes!!
Salivating at the prospect of next year becoming another great Timefactors incoming year. Brilliant!!!!!
Interested!
Steel / black dial
39mm
Day-date
Drilled lugs, not fixed springbars
120 click, excellent bezel action
Ceramic preferred
Really GOOD lume
Bigger non-emaciated minute hand
And hopefully those crown guards won’t be as beefy as the render makes them appear?
How would a double dome crystal play out? Flat could be too ... flat.
Any update, Eddie? Has this moved from "idea" to "project" status yet?
Looks like 2019 is going to be a banner year for you, already. PRS-25 36mm White, Aerotimer, the Speedbird is Back, now the Caribbean is reality for the end of the year. Quite remarkable. I'd buy all of them, if I had that kind of disposable income these days. Just going to be tough now, choosing the 1 or 2 to purchase.
How about a quartz movement with the appearance of a mechanical movement (e.g. like the ISA9500-1010 that’s in the PRS-37)?
I think it’s far more interesting and distinctive than a regular quartz movement.

Yes, would love to see a return. Prefer date only. Day/date on dials seems to detract from otherwise more clean aesthetics.
fixed bars ,day date, stainless steel and brushed finish ...and a pvd.
This is great news and with the new PRS-45, the PRS-10 reissue (& both sons at Uni) the bank account will empty faster than usual 👍
A bit of a tweak.

Thats a great look Eddie and does send the watch in another direction!
Slightly irrelevant post, as although I'm after a new watch to take diving, I'm wanting mechanical not quartz.
That said, and for what it's worth, the only things I'd change would be:
- No date
- Fat minute hand instead of hour
Black DLC ftw!

If this went ahead would it roughly be in the same price range as the prs-18?

The differences I see are
Changed arrow for circle T
Changed lume pip to solid triangle
Changed colour dial versions to solid black outline hands
Still good for me as long as that lume triangle is nothing like the one on the COSC which refuses to glow much at all.
I’m cool without drilled lugs if that won’t suit the design
I’m also good whichever way we go on the day-date / no date etc.

Didn’t notice the lack of pip. Prefer the pip to the solid triangle personally

I'd take the original specs over the tweaks.
If you can't wait, you can get one of these

The other thread alerted me to the fact I haven't been keeping up with this at all. If these come out well, I will definitely be in line for one. I'm "that guy" who bought a CWC quartz reissue in spite of the price. Largely because the aged lume on the bezel matching the dial and hands makes it look rather nice indeed. I didn't care about whether it looks "vintage" or not, I just prefer the softer amber colour to the standard, slightly angry-looking green. Since I bought that one to mark a special date I have to be a bit careful with it, so I'm on the lookout for something similar to wear more frequently as I am a big fan of this design. But not too similar, as I don't want two nearly-identical watches.
For that reason I really like the idea of the blue version. I wonder what other people think about the green lume on the blue dial though? Doesn't look great to me. What's the state-of-the-art these days when it comes to pure white superluminova? The stuff on my Kemmner Octopus seems pretty good. I think that would look perfect with the blue. It would also stop the white date wheel looking so out of place. The hands and bezel lume would need to match of course.
Also wondering, given the plans to expand the Smiths brand, what this would look like with the plain SMITHS text on the dial? Hmm...
Seem to have missed this one! Like the designs, would probably prefer date only or plain dial. Like the DLC with blue dial/bezel option best at the moment.
Missed getting one of the original PRS3 - not really sure why - and this would be a good addition.
Perhaps the blue & yellow versions should have C1 or better yet, BGW-9 lume?
And I'd keep the Precista brand & logo. I like it. And it has legitimate history. That, and boobies would look silly on an MoD dialed mil-diver.
I'm also interested in an update if there is one
Liking it a lot with that bezel Eddie. Agree with number 2’s comments above regarding the crown and guards.
