Pop up ads appearing on TZ and only TZ..Update

It only happens on TZ no other site....as yet that is.

I'm using Safari with Adblocker but very recently ads have started appearing at the bottom of the page, full width.

Not happening yet on Google Chrome
    Chrome blocks them, it says.......
Insecure content blocked, Page is trying to load scrips from unauthenticated sources.

If I try to delete the ad it links to this site https://youradchoices.com I have not gone into the site.

Anyone else have the same?Adguard works Adblocker does not....!

They really are becoming a pain in the arse and spoiling my enjoyment of the site. I visit other sites where I need the adblocker off and having to turn it on and off all the time is a pain.
I understand why Eddie has introduced ads, but surely to god they don’t have to be so obtrusive. On my iPad they block half of every video anyone posts
Other sites manage to have ads that don’t obscure their content to this extent.

Any Ad blocker worth having will have a whitelist feature. Use that to automatically have the ad blocker off for the sites where this is required rather than manually turning it on and off.

Microsoft edge appears to be working OK.

I was temporarily locked out of the forum for a few days following problems with IE freezing, google chrome misbehaving, and then my phone lost 30% of the tiny screen due to the annoying pop-up at the bottom of the page.
Lets see how long this will last.
I'm gonna need half a dozen browsers loaded up just to log-on.

I can't see any ads browsing forum with Firefox on a MacOS, I see them on iPad and iPhone but they do not bother me (I visit a lot of sites with good ads, bad ads, ads top, right, left and middle, pop up ads, opening in the middle of the text ads etc etc) so I probably inoculated to some extent. If it bothers you, there are workarounds available. Are they PITA? Yes. It is still a great site/resource, so help yourself to enjoy it by using one of the solutions at hand.

    FWIW naturally.

Agreed to all the above and another vote for AdGuard as a solution (works on my iPad/safari anyway, well, at least after my son installed it properly for me!!)

Every page on TZ that I visit now has adverts coming up on both my PC and Ipad and iPhone. Its a bloody nightmare and like nothing on any other forum that I visit. What is going on????

If the administrator is priming us for ad free subscription, can we just get it out in the open, as I'm about done with the way things have become?

The adverts pay for the fees for forum hosting and the bandwidth used.
Great idea, but it has a few teething problems.

I don't mind the ads. It helps to pay the bills.
But if the browser freezes or I can't navigate the pages due to misdirection's and drop outs, I'm not going to see many of the ads anyway.

I get a banner ad at the top that scrolls off screen, a narrow fixed one at the bottom that can be closed but doesn't really interfere with the browsing, and two square ones embedded in the top and bottom post of the thread on the screen. This is using Safari on a MacBook. I'm not finding it too much to cope with. My only gripe is that it reduces the size photographs in an opening post.

Incidentally, recently the top one has often been for the latest TF Everest.

As Eddie hasn't commented on this thread it must be intentional. on my PC it isn't a problem as the X is visible and I can click to remove it, but on my IPhone it is very annoying as I cant, sometimes the adverts are covering the bottom 50% of the screen

Browsing on mobile seems to be quite a drain on the battery since the latest ads appeared. I imagine they're quite a pull on data too.

I certainly didn't ask for an increase in advertising so I've requested that the level of adverts be returned to what it was a month ago. I don't know how long it will take though, I got an "out of office" automated reply.

It's not about buying stuff, it's about organic impressions (don't ask)

I would happily pay a subscription in order to enjoy the site ad free.
