So was I until I found out it was £6200?... Prefer the original with handwind "speedie" movement.

    It’s limited to 500 ... I’ll stick with my 1964 re-edition.

Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha! How much? I'm fed up with TAG - the new Autavia is a monster compared to what it's based on and the Monza case and strap are an ugly pile of rubbish (nice dial and hands though). The Skipper Carrera (https://shop.hodinkee.com/products/t...nt=46356448655) was nice, but was done in conjunction with Hodinkee, cost a lot and sold out immediately to collectors scrambling to invest in one. TAG really could do themselves a favour and do their own careful reissues and make them available to the masses at sensible prices. But like Omega and the Speedy Tuesday and Ultraman they know they can coin it in with limited editions while the market's riding high. While I'm here I do like a lot of the design of the Speedy Tuesday and Ultraman but don't like any of Omega's Speedy limited editions and reissues. I wonder how long it will be before Bamford get it completely right (they're getting there). Seems a shame these big watch companies aren't capable of pillaging their own design heritage properly but others can.

I would too - that's exactly how to do it.

I like some of the Tag range and think some of the Heuer re-editions are great, the CAW211P ‘McQueen’ Monaco is superb.
But agreed, don’t like this and especially not at £6k !

If that Autavia has been smaller I’d have bought one, I tried one but it was way too big for me.

TAG are definitely listening to me. I write on this thread and moments later they release the Autavia reissue they should have released in the first place (albeit with a thinner bezel perhaps):

    https://www.tagheuer.com/en-us/watch...cbe2118-fc8246

The original mid-1960s 2446 Autavia Rindt that won the TAG competition two or three years ago is 39(ish)mm wide, manual and has no date. The new Autavia they released based on this is 42mm, automatic and has a date. It just didn't work, which is why I suspect they haven't sold so well.

Now they've modified the new Autavia so it has two sub dials (instead of three), which makes it the same spec (42mm, auto, date at six) as the original 1163 Autavia from 1969. It's a start but I hope they do some decent Carrera reissues now.

Nice, but still too big for me. Max 39mm for my slim wrists.

Had to look up what "fragment" was... Sounds like the ultimate hipster watch.

If this was a limited edition Speedy it would be sold out by now.

All good, except, like the Skipper, they have messed up the sub-dials. This one has a 1-12 bezel but is a 12-hr chrono, and omits the running seconds, because their sub-dials are in the wrong locations.
    Nope, no good
