    Buying GBP

A question for those financial experts...
I live overseas but still maintain a UK bank acct and purchase a reasonable amount of stuff online for delivery here (using UK credit card). I also visit family back in the UK. I have, on several occasions, topped up my UK savings etc with a currency purchase and will in the next few months need to do this again. Am I at risk of losing everything if Brexit goes belly up? Will GBP be "worthless"? I'm not talking a large sum of money but enough to irritate me and prevent any further watch purchases!!!!!
    Many thanks.

Who knows? I think you are fairly safe. The GBP might go down a bit but I doubt it’ll be “worthless” overnight. If that were the case I would worry more about your family back in the UK than future watch purchases

I would use Revolut or something in your shoes. Gbp will go down, approx 36.4 % in total from the pre referendum rate. It will stay low for about 6 years, but then slowly recover in line with the rest of the world economy which will also be fokked by then. Have a nice day. Dave.
Good luck everybody. Have a good one.

Of course GBP won’t be worthless. I would probably buy some now as the rate is pretty good. However, it may go up or down, but there will be no armageddon

I’d personally wait until mid December before making any decision.

Could be a good call. Likely to take another dip at that point

I follow this closely as I'm a UK resident but paid in USD.

I'm holding on to my dollars for now. Some are saying GBP will bottom out around 120.

Is that what they mean by a double dip? :

    (I'll get my coat...)
