    Unable to wear a watch

Due to my (non contagious) skin condition finally finding its way to both my wrists, I am now unable to wear any of my watches.
I'm in a bit of a pickle now as to what to do. My watches are just sitting there, although looking very pretty, not being of any use.

What would you do if you couldn't wear any of your watches?

Couldn't you wear them over a skin coloured wrist band?

Sorry to hear this. Is there no type of strap material you could use (and no contact with watch case)?

If not, depends how much you just like watches as collectible objects - after all many of us hardly ever wear some of our collection. Same with other stuff people collect, trainers for example. Personally I’d keep mine!

unfortunately it isn't a reaction, just anything rubbing on it irritates it.
    It sucks!

I'd be on the lookout for a nice pocket watch, preferably a Smiths.

I would flog them and buy a pocket watch.

Sell them and use your phone as a clock.

If horology is your thing, you can buy pocket watches with complications you wouldn’t even dream of buying in wristwatches.

As above, even if only temporarily until your condition hopefully clears up. Do some research into American Railroad watches, there are some lovely old examples with quite beautiful movements and dials. Comparatively cheap too.

Although an obvious solution, I never thought about a pocket watch. May need to do some research as never looked into them.
I did find these images on Google that could work.

Those wrist watches on fobs look really nice. Never seen that option before.

Exactly. It is stunning what you can buy in pocket watches. Perpetual calendars, répétition minute, grande sonneries for less than a Rolex GMT...

Well, I thought I was cured of my irrational desire for a railroad watch, but this thread has got me looking again! Classic TZ helplessness.

Panerai as a pocket watch. That looks nice! Wouldn't mind owning one. I find a lot of the traditional pocket watches too... traditional: with late 19th century-shaped hands and markers. A proper modern version would look good. That is why I love to look of the Panerai.

Afaik, the CWC pocket watch has a modern style. I think that the Dalai Lama has a great, modern-looking Patek pocket watch as well. You'll be in good company!

That's an excellent solution - looks stunning and allows you to keep all your favourite watches. If you look closely at a pair of jeans you'll notice the right hand front pocket has a smaller, square shaped pocket inside it (you can see it in taylor's pic). This is a design hang over from the first Levi's jeans of around 1880 and is there to slide your pocket or fob watch into. Fob watch and jeans = a very cool solution.
