Which TAG Heuer Formula 1 To Purchase?

Thinking of adding one to my collection, can anyone recommend?

Whatever you choose, buy used. I bought a boxed, complete set many years ago for not much over £300. There isn't a single mark on it at that price.

    Good idea!

I know Jura are doing a competition so I might just enter that first and see if I'm lucky!

I’m hankering after the Bucherer Blue Special Edition, nice design, nice blue in the flesh, auto, 2 straps, recognisable Swiss entry level brand and good price. Will look in the NY. https://uk.bucherer.com/tag-heuer-bu...15-ba0842.html

Bought this three years ago and can’t fault it for the price.

Only had this a few weeks
    But cant fault it..
    A second day lost
    Sometimes not even that
Not bad for a Swiss ‘entry’ level brand

I’ve always been tempted by the classic orange faced variety, though not enough to buy one...

If your buying new the gulf edition f1 is a good bet , the mark 1 version second hand market always seemed good , I think they were about £900 new and for a good few years seemed to be able to get second hand ones for around £600-£800

I would recommend visiting one of their boutiques if you can. I was also considering a formula one recently and visited the meadowhall store. They were very friendly and I tried on a few different versions. I quickly realised that what I liked the look of online I wasn't so keen on in the flesh and vice versa. The one I surprisingly liked most was a white faced version but was an automatic (and more expensive) and I was after a quartz. I didn't discuss discounts.

I also noticed that Ernest jones had some in their sale so that's worth looking out for too.

I bought a vintage F1 (25-30 years old) from the bay very recently and am impressed with its quality and appearance.
Nice 36mm diameter for my small wrist too.

Ive had this one since march and its one of my favorite watches in my collection, nicely built grab and go quartz, i dont really understand the auto formular 1's, theyve always been quartz

    Bracelet

    Original rubber strap

    Nato

Really comfortable bracelet as always, rubber strap is ok. If anyone is going to buy one of the Biver era ones like this id reccomend the white one, the black dial is about as legible as a dry fart.

My old F1 which was one of the best designs imo, it really set the F1 apart from the rest of the brands colldction for the first time in many years with its military style,

Wearing mine today, they're very comfortable on the wrist, especially on the rubber strap. I got this one from the outlet mall at Swindon, I don't know if they still sell them there though.

Agreed, but if you must, Laings are offering a hefty discount off this one.

I only like one, ref. CA1211, but I like that one a lot - great movement, iconic looks, still sort of cheap:
