A few years ago I had a tax refund after a holiday in Canada and this was refunded by cheque a few weeks after returning home. It was deposited into my bank account and from memory it was around the usual £/$ rate plus an admin charge.
We recently received a partial refund from the Walt Disney Company following a rather nasty bed bug infestation at our resort when we stayed there back in August.
Unfortunately this has arrived in the form of a cheque made out in USD. With that in mind and having never had to pay in a foreign cheque before what would be the best and most cost effective way of cashing it here in the UK?

Your own bank probably best bet.
Deposit into your bank I you will get the exchange rate on that day.
Most banks settle foreign cheques in similar way to Santander method described above … be prepared for bank charges and unfavourable exchange rate.
