Great pictures, wish I had realised this was on.
Some very cool cars there.

What is the first Aston? DB4GT Zagato or some other special?

Can't be an original DB4 Zagato, maybe a replica (modded DB4) or one of the continuation models (but even seems cheap for one of those!).

Breitling Cosmonaute 809 - What's not to like?
My mate and I have been in previous years. It's just classic car porn. Well worth going if you've never been before.

Agree on the pricing.
I have been attending now for years as both an exhibitor and stand volunteer for a particular car club... every year I walk past the ticket booth and am shocked at how the prices seem to be going up and up each year.
And £16 for the privilege of parking.

Pre booked tickets £26.50
Pre booked parking £12.00
Not to bad for a really full day out
Went on Sunday... £30 entrance and £16 to park... ouch!
Enjoyable day though, so not really grumbling.
I went on Sunday too. Took the train so it worked out at 38 for me. Ticket prices inflation are nothing compared the prices of some of the cars though!
I had a mate buy a perfect BMW 850 at the revival four years ago for 15k. There was a slightly ropey bright yellow 840 for 37k yesterday.
That reminds me, did that lovely red one that was up for sale on the SC sell in the end?

Classic Car market is very strong at the moment, I think I lot of people have thought let’s enjoy our money, it’s gathering sod all in the bank.
People are taking the 25% tax free out of their pension and using it for some enjoyment and a investment of sorts.

Will need to do this one year. I am on several car forums and everyone rates it.
Given it a miss for the past couple of years. I’ve always gone on the Saturday and it’s been v. busy.........too busy to enjoy for me. I’ve always travelled by train, more expensive but more relaxing, and you don’t have to worry about parking.
The fact that it gets too busy spoils it, last time I went (2015) it was almost impossible to find anywhere to sit down and take the weight off your feet, food and drink involved lengthy queues too.
It does get extremely busy for sure but you don’t have to venture too far to escape the chaos if you need a break. Whilst the show is large, the NEC itself is larger and you can simply exit one of the halls and head towards an unoccupied end... 2-3 minutes walk and you can find yourself in a virtually deserted area of the venue, to just sit down and have a cuppa and a sandwich.
I would encourage bringing your own food as the prices crossed the ridiculous some time ago.
Yes your own picnic is a great idea, as said we walked out of the Hall into a concourse found a quite area to sit and relax.
You can leave your bag at one of many Cloakrooms for £1 each item, then retrieve and put back, as many times as you want.
Did notice one food menu price Burger and chips £14.50

Last time I was there (2015) I was suffering with a knee problem which eventually needed surgery, a few hours on my feet with no respite was a bit much.......couldn’t even seek solace in a beer or two owing to the crazy long queues! Ironically in 2016 I couldn’t go, I’d just had knee surgery the week before..........running downhill with the dog finally finished it off in July 2016 , thankfully it’s now OK but 2- 3 hrs of twisting and turning in a busy place starts to get painful.
I think the event’s a victim of its own success.....or maybe I’m getting old! In some ways I wish I’d made the effort to go this year, but I certainly would’ve winced at the admission charge! Add that to the ever increasing rail fares and it starts to look like an expensive day out.
Maybe next year!
Popped out to eat at Wetherspoons , sit, order food via the app and hey presto food arrives with no queuing !
