Personally, I canít stand this style of strap, just looks scruffy to me. I prefer traditional styles, especially on a vintage watch. To my eyes it looks totally wrong, a nice added dark blue alligatrvwould look far nicer.

    Well, you did ask!

Not for me, HAS to be period. When mineís not on itís 1170 bracelet, a big hole Tropic is the one.

New shoes for my Seamaster 176.010

Iíve tried far too many strap styles on watches of similar size and style. For me it absolutely has to taper from 22mm to 16mm; these are a 38mm watch case with a 22mm lug width. The taper to 16mm helps to keep everything in proportion (and matches the bracelets for this model).

For me, an exotic skin is too formal for a non-formal chronograph. Plain calf or perforated of some description. Flat profile too.

Hereís what Iíve ended up with on my 176.007, when Iím not using the bracelet. Not to everyoneís taste Iím sure!

That's lovely. Do you happen to know the strap manufacturer?

OP's choice wouldn't be mine, but the tan on blue looks incredible!

I have to say I wasn't aware of the 176.007 before and it's gorgeous!

It's a sporty watch; perhaps would look odd with aligator strap; do you have an example? Keen to see what it looks like
