Łódź, Poland - anything to do there?

Short notice trip next week for work but will have 2 half days and 2 evenings to kill.

Anyone know anything or if there’s stuff of interest?

Last time I was there was maybe 6/7 years ago, but Club 77 was good for jazz, and there are some decent underground beer pubs. Otherwise, not a huge amount else. Definitely a place it helps to know locals.

The neighborhood I was in, some houses still relied on a communal manual water pump in the street for their water supply, so it's quite a mix of old and new.

I stopped there last year, just for a pit-stop to get something to eat, when driving across Poland. I was very surprised to be honest. Poland is booming at the moment. Cities like Poznań and Wroclaw are full of great bars and restaurants, boutiques and wealthy people. Łódź has unfortunately been left behind. The poorest major city in Poland, and by a long way. You’ll still be able to have a couple of nights on the beer, but sightseeing wise, other than a very long Main Street and a shopping centre converted from a factory, there’s not much to it.

    Isn’t Łódź Poland’s Hollywood?
