Any Sinn EZM3 or 3F owners out there?

Hi everyone, I’ve been admiring the EZM3 and am thinking about biting the bullet and picking one up, but I keep flip flopping on whether I prefer the cleaner (harsher?) aesthetic of the 3F.

I’m also on the fence about wether to get the watch on the bracelet or just a strap as it seems the bracelet end links can have a noticeable gap to the rest of the bracelet.

Any thoughts or experiences (and pics - pics are always welcome!) would be much appreciated!

    Many thanks

    Hi,

I’ve owned a couple of EZM3 (and one EZM1 that I regret letting go). The EZM3 were both on black straps They were both very nice, but I sold both when they fell out of regular use and during severe collection thinning rampages. I decided that I wasn’t keen on the numbers on the dial. I have in my mind that if a second hand F came up at the right price, I would give an F a shot. Overall, I still like the EZM1 and 3 whether or not with numbers.

I have a UX GSG9 too and always wore both on silicon straps...until I discovered NATOs.

The 3F case is 5mm slimmer.

Thanks Billy. Yes, would love an EZM1 but alas I can’t justify the extra expense (I’m already in trouble with the boss as I’m supposed to be reducing, not increasing, my meagre collection!)

I do not have an EZM3 but i do have an EZM1, and the 3F is to me the far more successful successor to the 1's design.
For me the extra dial numerals on the 3 detract from the genius simplicity of the original.
The 3 is still a relatively austere watch, so why not stick to the total austerity of that design and get a 3F.

Thanks - love the pic, the dial does really pop.

Do you mean the 3F is 0.5mm less tall (5mm is significantly slimmer!)?

My daily driver at the mo is a Tudor BB ETA which is 41mm and 12.7mm thick, so same width but a little prouder than both the 3 or 3F, so hopefully either option will be comfy.

Fair comment. I find it interesting that they made the 3f visually clearer but changed the date to white rather than the more reserved red.

I’ve got an ezm3. I would agree that the dial is slightly busier than the 3f but it still suits the style of the watch and I like it. I also prefer the standard uni directional divers bezel as opposed to the aviation bi directional one on the 3f.
The Lume is fantastic, up there with the best Seiko’s.
I’m sure you’ve read it already but it is incredibly difficult to read the date in anything other than bright light- and I have good eyesight!
I would go for the bracelet. It’s cheaper to buy a leather strap down the line than a bracelet. Images I’ve seen online do show a gap but mine has no such gap so maybe Sinn have changed the design slightly. The bracelet does seem to mark easily though. My watch case is unmarked which is more than I can say for the bracelet.
I love the size of the ezm. I sold my Tudor Pelagos for the the ezm 3 as I thought the Pelagos was too big for my tastes.

    Thanks mate.

My apologies (it was late), I think I need to get my eyes tested too.
Just checked the Sinn website and it's 0.6mm.

So in summary, my eyes are crap, as is my maths and I don't even know why I wrote it in the first place.

    Taxi!

That is super helpful - thank you. Totally agree re the bezel, I definitely prefer the diver numbering. Thanks for heads up re the date - I don’t think that’ll be a deal breaker as I generally go for non-dates, so it’s just nice to have the functionality (even if I will have to dig out my phone light if I want to see it...)

I agree th at having the date wheel hidden away is quite a good thing. It’s unobtrusive but there if I need it. It’s actually helped ween me off date only watches!

Well, after going back and forth a few times, I decided on the 3 in the end, both for heritage and aesthetic reasons - the order is in and am awaiting the goodies. Thanks for all the help, nervous about this one as I’ve never bought a watch without trying it on first, so fingers crossed!
